Good things come to those who hustle!
A week after he was getting shamed by Twidiots for working as a cashier at Trader Joe’s, Geoffrey Owens scored a major acting gig thanks to Tyler Perry.
As we reported, the former Cosby Show actor went viral after a woman snapped a picture of him working the register at a store in New Jersey. Countless Twitter users poked fun at the actor for his less-than-desirable role, but the public ridicule was actually a blessing in disguise.

Because days later, a certain entertainment powerhouse took to Twitter to offer Owens a role on his OWN‘s number one drama series, The Haves and the Have Nots.
Inspired by Owens’ hustle, Perry shared:
#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shootings OWN’s number one drama next week! Come join us!!! I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist.

Sources told TMZ Owens will fly to Atlanta next week to begin filming what will be a recurring role. He’s set to appear on 10 episodes.
But the blessings didn’t end there. Nicki Minaj announced that she’s making a $25,000 donation to the actor on her Beats 1 Queen Radio show — because she’s that impressed with his hustle, and that disgusted by how he was treated.
The Ganga Burn rapper also didn’t hold back her opinions about Karma Lawrence, the woman who took the photo of him.
Owens said he was initially embarrassed about his picture hitting the web, but later grew proud thanks to the outpouring of support from fans and artistic peers.
Finally, something good has come from the hatred of the internet!
