Prepare how you must, but it sure sounds like none of y’all are going to be ready for what’s in store when the forthcoming Wendy Williams biopic debuts as a TV special next year.
The Lifetime made-for-TV movie set to chronicle the daytime talk show host’s meteoric rise to fame sounds like an absolutely epic, crazy s**t show… and we are TOTALLY here for it!!!

According to TMZ, the biopic — which will air at some point next year on Lifetime — is set to span Williams’ entire life, from age 10 to 55, and run the gamut of everything that’s happened to her therein. According to sources, the made-for-TV movie will cover “super intimate topics like her coke habit, sex romps, fat shaming from her family and a never-before-told story of date rape at the hands of a chart-topping artist.”
Whoa!!! Come again with that last one there?! Who could THAT be????
Also set to be part of the movie: Wendy’s real-life experiences with racism and sexism in Hollywood, real details from her marriage to Kevin Hunter (as well as an intimate look at the divorce between the two), and her relationship with Mo’Nique. In other words — Wendy is giving us EVERYTHING in this biopic, and it sounds like it’s going to be absolutely insane in all the best ways!! Must-watch TV!!

The biopic doesn’t officially have a name yet, though for now it’s being dubbed Just Wendy. And it doesn’t have a release date set yet, either, though we know it’ll air at some point in 2020. Will Packer is on to direct it, with Wendy herself writing the screenplay with a big assist from Leigh Davenport.
As for those acting in the movie… there will apparently be two different Wendys in the movie (one younger and one older, we assume?), but Williams herself will NOT be one. She’s NOT going to be starring in her own biopic, instead letting professionals do the acting job, which honestly is probably a very wise move. And apparently Wendy prefers that all the actors be “relatively unknown,” too, so their own fame doesn’t take away from her life story here on camera.
What do U think about this Wendy biopic, Perezcious readers?! Are you ready for how damn crazy this thing is gonna be?? We seriously can’t wait!!! Sound OFF with your thoughts about it in the comments (below)!!!
