Wendy Williams Moves To End Guardianship -- And Reveals She Hasn't Seen A Doctor In HOW LONG?!

That shocking new Wendy Williams documentary has only been up for a few hours, but we are already seeing MAJOR fallout from it.

As we’ve been reporting, the iconic daytime TV host is the focus of a jaw-dropping new documentary over on Tubi called Saving Wendy.

A notable portion of that doc centers on troubling claims about Wendy’s son Kevin Hunter Jr. But the deets around it just got WAY more dramatic — because Wendy just made a major move to END her guardianship!

On Wednesday afternoon, according to sources who spoke to TMZ, Wendy signed an affidavit asking a judge to set her free from her guardianship. Yes, really!!

The affidavit reportedly states that the Wendy Williams Show alum has “regained capacity” to function on her own. Per that news outlet, Wendy also says in the affidavit that she does not have frontotemporal dementia — despite what doctors have claimed. That’s notable in part because it echoes a claim she has made in the recent past.

Furthermore, sources told TMZ that Wendy is going to be evaluated by a doctor next Tuesday. And not only that, but the doctor is reportedly one selected by the attorney Wendy hired to end her guardianship. In other words, she’s hoping this MD won’t automatically align with guardian Sabrina Morrissey‘s side of things.

Then, the day after that doctor’s appointment, the outlet reports that Wendy’s lawyer will file what’s called an “emergency order to show cause.” Basically, that’s a petition that will force a judge to look into the issue to end her guardianship.

She’s got another potential out there, as well. Should things not go her way — i.e., if the presiding judge turns down Wendy’s request for freedom — sources claim the daytime TV legend will demand a jury trial over it! The hope would be that she can convince a panel of jurors that she’s regained the capacity to run her life on her own, without a conservator’s control.

Major moves!

This new report about next week’s doctor’s appointment is actually particularly noteworthy in another context, too. See, in the aforementioned Saving Wendy documentary, the 60-year-old openly revealed that she hasn’t seen a doctor in “a long while.” So long of a while, in fact, that when she was pressed on that timeline by TMZ host Harvey Levin, she said it had been such a long time that she “couldn’t” even estimate the date of her last appointment! JEEZ!

Referring to her most recent years, and the assisted living facility she’s currently living in, Wendy said:

“I was in Connecticut for a year and I didn’t go see anybody. I’ve been in here for six or seven months and I haven’t seen anybody.”

Damn. Not good at her age — and especially not good with the alleged ailments she’s been suffering from, according to longstanding claims made by Morrissey and those around the guardianship itself. Get her a doctor, state!

But, well, it sure sounds like she’s going to see somebody next week. Thoughts, y’all? Share ’em (below)…
