Will Smith must’ve been initially disappointed when his daughter dropped out of the remake of Annie that he’s producing with Jay Z.
But we’re sure he got over that pretty quickly once they casted slash scored Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhan├â┬⌐ Wallis!
Willow Smith, for her part, has NO regrets about passing on the movie that her poppa wanted her specifically in!
And she explained why she isn’t sweating her decision in the new issue of V magazine.
In a very thought-provoking response, Willow revealed her reasoning behind saying no to Annie, saying:
“I just wanted to chill, and be at home, and decompress, and just find out what I wanna do and where I stand on this planet, with the little tiny place we have. I just feel like I want to do it different than the world’s ready for. I’m enjoying just being independent and doing my own thing.”
Some of those own things includes releasing her own music! Which is excellent if we do say so ourselves!
We LOVE how Willow is so independent and wise beyond her years.
She’s 13 years old, and she sounds like she’s a college student already!
Talk about an old soul!
