The World Dog Surfing Championship (No, Seriously) Took Place On A Beach In NorCal This Weekend, And The Winning Pooch Was…
Shout-out to Derby the dog — the 2018 winner of the World Dog Surfing Championship that was held yesterday afternoon at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, California!
Derby — who you’ll see (below) was decked out in a life vest along with shades and a gnarly purple/blue mohawk — outlasted dozens of other dogs to win the world championship and be crowned the globe’s best surfin’ dog!
Yesterday’s event in NorCal had a ton of different weight classes and groupings; things like small, medium, and large dog competitions, along with tandem dog surfing pairs, and even a human/dog event.
And by the looks of Derby and the rest of the pups (below), this must have been a ton of fun:
