This is crazy!
Zach Bryan has been the talk of the town since his dramatic split from Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna Chickenfry. But before that, he made waves online when he criticized Taylor Swift, writing in a since-deleted tweet in September, “Eagles > chiefs, Kanye [West] > Taylor, who’s with me.” As you can imagine, Swifties weren’t with him and he later apologized for the diss while posting several of the artist’s songs and praising her.
This weekend, however, fans noticed that maybe Zach isn’t such a Taylor hater after all. He’s actually been seemingly ripping her off all this time! Swifties are now calling him out for seemingly copying three of Taylor’s popular songs — Should’ve Said No, Betty, and Dear John.

First off, fans noticed that the opening instrumental of Zach’s song Let You Down from his 2020 EP, Quiet, Heavy Dreams, sounds almost identical to Should’ve Said No. A similar thing happened with his Pink Skies track and Betty. Ch-ch-check it out:
the way it sounds identical like identicallll imma need tree to get him pic.twitter.com/gYDXl0C3zP

OMG!!
If you’re not paying attention to the video, Let You Down could easily be Should’ve Said No. Whoa!
In another shocking twist, Zach seemingly copied Taylor’s hit Dear John — which is famously about her ex John Mayer — and he actually had John Mayer singing on his track, called Better Days. The insanity! Hear the songs back-to-back (below):
There was another comparing one of his songs to dear john (which just so happens to feature john mayer) but to me, it sounds like “this love” pic.twitter.com/KkgVyJroZb

As mentioned in the tweet (above), someone also felt it sounded like This Love. Here’s that for comparison:
Kinda sounds like a combo of both, though Dear John definitely has some striking and more obvious similarities to it!
Fans reacted to the similarities, writing on X (Twitter):
“the way it sounds identical like identicallll imma need [publicist Tree Paine] to get him”
“it always bothered me that pink skies sounded so similar to another song i knew, but couldn’t put my finger on it till now hearing them side by side makes it much more noticeable that he stole taylor’s songs”
“Everytime pink skies comes on in the car when boyfriend is playing music, I always think it’s Betty and I have to remind myself he’s not that much of a Swiftie ”
“I clocked it instantly lol”
So far, it doesn’t seem like the Anti-Hero artist has gone after Zach, but it’s not out of the question. While lawsuits over songs can be hard to win, the Grammy winner fought Olivia Rodrigo for songwriting credit on Deja Vu and 1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back and won. Frankly, Olivia’s songs were far less similar to Taylor and Zach’s tunes, so we wouldn’t be shocked if the performer goes after him next!
