Zendaya’s spider senses were NOT tingling before Tom Holland got down on one knee!
The Challengers star looked happier than ever on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet where she debuted her ring… But just weeks ago she had no idea an engagement was coming! Or at least not yet! On Monday, an insider told Page Six:
“Tom and Zendaya had discussed marriage over the years, but Zendaya had no idea he was planning to propose. They both value their privacy, so the proposal was something Tom wanted to keep private as well.”

As we’ve been following, Tom popped the question at one of Z’s family homes in the US sometime in between Christmas and New Year’s, months after asking the Dune star’s mom and dad Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu Coleman for permission. It wasn’t anything “over the top” — but exactly what Zendaya wanted. A source told Us Weekly on Monday:
“Tom figured the holidays were the best time to propose in a very low-key way. [Zendaya] didn’t want anything over the top.”
And now that they’re officially an engaged pair, both the Hollands and the Colemans are absolutely over the moon. The insider told Page Six:
“Tom and Zendaya’s families are ecstatic. Zendaya’s mom and sisters can’t wait to start planning with her.”
So sweet!
We do, however, know that a wedding isn’t anything T & Z are looking to “rush” into, especially with their busy schedules. The insider noted that as of now, there is “no wedding date or plans set yet” as it’s “far too soon to start thinking about any of that yet.” They added:
“They’re still celebrating the exciting news.”
As they should!! As for why the Spider-Man: No Way Home star decided to ask Zendaya for her hand in marriage now, a source told Us Weekly:
“Tom wanted to propose because he feels he is at the right time in his life and feels ready to settle down. They had many conversations over the years, but there was never any pressure. Zendaya is giddy and excited. She knew it might have been coming but never put pressure on it.”
That’s the best way to go about it, right? Organically! We love it! And while the pair very highly value their privacy, the Euphoria star just couldn’t help from sporting her new bling over the weekend:
“Zendaya tried to keep it a secret but was very excited to show off her ring. She didn’t think people would notice but didn’t care either way.”
She should know by now that fans notice EVERYTHING! And this time around, approve in spades!
