Zendaya may have teamed up on an empowerment anthem with Michelle Obama, Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliott, and more female stars, but just singing on This Is For My Girls wasn’t enough for the performer — because now she’s taking the next step!

Zendaya is helping to launch America Online‘s MAKERS STORIES app — a tech initiative giving 50 women a chance to be in the star-studded music video for the song!
The app, which is linked with Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn initiative, is calling women from across the globe to submit clips — fifty of which will be chosen to appear in the video along side the First Lady and music superstars!
Zendaya sounded VERY excited about the app’s launch and the entire This Is For My Girls initiative, saying in her own MAKERS STORIES clip (below):

“Sticking with your vision and what you believe in is so, so important. There are so many people that are going to tell you what you should think of yourself, and it’s so important that you look at yourself, you become happy with yourself and confident in your own opinions and your own strength ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and stay with that because it’s so hard, especially if you’re young. People always want to doubt you.”
