Though Barnes & Noble had previously stated that they would not be carrying O.J.Simpson's new "fictionalized" memoir, If I Did It, the book retailers are now saying that they will sell it in their stores.

But they won't be promoting it, as if that's supposed to make things better.

Barnes & Noble spokeswoman Mary Ellen Keating said: "We've been monitoring the pre-orders and customer requests and have concluded that enough customers have expressed interest in buying the book to warrant stocking it in our stores. We do not intend to promote the book but we will stock it in our stores because our customers are asking for it."

For days Simpson's book has been in the top 100 on Barnes & Noble.com and at one point even topped the best-seller list. If I Did It has also entered the top 100 on Amazon.com.

O.J. won't be making any money off the book, though.

Over the summer, a federal bankruptcy judge awarded rights to the book to the family of victim Ronald Goldman to help satisfy a $38 million wrongful death judgment against Simpson.

If I Did It will be published September 13th by Beaufort Books on behalf of the Goldman family, which considers the book Simpson's confession.

The family of Nicole Brown, the other victim, objects to its publishing.

The man attempting to extort over $1 million dollars from Tom Cruise has agreed to plead guilty to extortion.

David Hans Schmidt, celebrity smut peddler, was trying to force the Mission Impossible star to pay him lots of money or he'd release stolen family photos.

Schmidt faces up to two years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

Disney's new Broadway-bound adaptation of The Little Mermaid is getting shiteous reviews across the boards.

Sad.

The show is not expected to open in New York until November, though, so hopefully they can change it A LOT while they're currently workshopping it in Denver!

Oh, boy! The shiz has hit the fan!

Yesterday, OK! magazine claimed that it had uncovered shocking allegations that Larry Birkhead is a shady and dishonest person.

The mag says it will reveal its explosive findings in their new issue.

Well, now Anna Nicole's ex is firing back and threatening to sue OK! magazine.

Birkhead claims that it's OK! that is behaving inappropriately.

"OK! magazine, they're basically—it's just sour grapes from them," Larry responds.

Birkhead said he planned to sue OK! for "alluding to the fact that I'd be involved in anything ethical or immoral with my daughter."

Dannilynne's dad said he believes the magazine's "explosive allegations" are culled from former MSNBC host Rita Cosby's upcoming book, Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death. He said he also plans to sue Cosby.

He's just sue happy!

Until now, Birkhead had participated in several pay for play cover stories with OK!. The mag would hand him lots of cash and he would give them exclusive interviews and access to Dannilynne, along with accompanying pictures.

Larry said the rift between him and the usually celeb-friendly mag started when he informed OK! that Us Weekly wanted to do a cover story on him and Dannielynn.

"I asked out of courtesy, and OK! magazine went through the roof," Birkhead said, adding that the glossy was also pissed that the invite to Dannielynn's first birthday party somehow ended up in InTouch. "They can't stand it if one other magazine has one other little detail."

Birkhead claims that a reporter from OK! sent him an email warning he'd be the subject of "horrid" coverage if he went ahead with the Us story. In the end, Birkhead did the Us interview, and according to him, he got the "horrid" treatment.

"They just sent out a press release showing how vindictive they are," Larry moaned. "They wanted to lock me down, like I'm under their command."

Hey, since they were paying you, then you WERE under their command!

Per Birkhead, the magazine also wanted to play party planner.

"They wanted to send a rap star to my daughter's first birthday," Birkhead said. "That's not appropriate for a one-year-old."

The "rap star," per Birkhead: Kat DeLuna, a singer who actually left the rapping to Elephant Man on their summertime hit Whine Up.

There may not be any OK! coverage, but we're sure Larry will be whoring out little Dannilynne to Enetratinment Tonight or Access Hollywood.

Summing up his feelings, Larry says, "It's been a rough year for me and I'm not going to let these people [at OK!] drag me down. They're mad because someone sold one less magazine. They can stay home, and there'll be more cake for me and Dannielynn."

David Beckham is injured again. An MRI exam confirmed on Thursday that he has sprained the medial collateral ligament in his knee.

This comes after Becks missed many an LA Galaxy game due to an ankle injury.

The old geezer is expected to be on the sideline for SIX weeks! That would place his return to the team at mid-October, when the Galaxy would have only three regular-season games remaining.

What a waste!

Beckham has all but thrown the towel in.

"It's just gone from one thing to another thing," Beckham said Wednesday night. "Maybe it's time for me to just say, 'I need the rest,' and get it right and don't come back until it's right."

Maybe it's time to retire?????

A source close to Owen Wilson is denying multiple reports that the actor overdosed on Sunday, when he was rushed to the hospital. He is also denying that the actor had his stomach pumped.

He claims that Wilson had been taking anti-depressants, but was not aware of any other drugs in his system at the time of the incident.

Us Weekly has reported that Wilson has recently relapsed and has been abusing heroin and cocaine.

Wilson's lawyer did not address reports that his client slit his wrists in his suicide attempt.

Owen continues to recuperate and sources speculate to PerezHilton.com that he may already be transferred from Cedars Sinai Medical Center to a rehab facility.
