The alleged song thief does it again!
We try to avoid her "music" as much as possible, so we didn't catch on to this until it was just pointed out to us.
It has been brought to our attention by an astute reader that the beginning of Avril Lavigne's song I Don't Have To Try - off her new album The Best Damn Thing sounds IDENTICAL to I'm The Kinda by a true Canadian artist, Peaches - off her album Fatherfucker.
The first 20 seconds of Avril's song are a carbon copy - musically and thematically - of the Peaches track.
We don't care enough about Avril to make a side-by-side comparison.
If somebody gets around to doing this….let us know!

The song was Hey You I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend. Guaranteed whoever wrote the avril song knew about The Party song. Such a copycat!!!! Disgusting!

Look up both the videos on youtube and it's pretty clear that Avril is, to what seems like a pretty high degree, ripping off/trying to sound like Peaches.
I don't care if it's her favorite song or not, she still copied someone else's work without giving them credit. And anyone who has been to college in the past five years knows what a serious offense that is - it's a textbook definition of plagarism and, in that setting, would result in a failure or expulsion. . .

First, both songs are bad..so she must have really been hard up to rip a song that is terrible.
Second, I download both of them when I read this and they are similar. The beat is a little [emphasis on little] different and there is some stupid clapping in Avril's version, but the general concept is the same I think.
Third, how likely is it that 2 [!] songs on her cd are similar to other peeps songs and she will STILL claim they aren't.
