E.R. fans should be excited.
Their “beloved” Dr. Barnett, played by Shane West, is returning to County General Hospital for the new season.
West’s character suffered a tragic car accident last season which left him without both of his legs. But when he returns on October 30th, he’ll be walking just fine after enduring months of rehab and getting fitted for prosthetics.
Exec producer Joe Sachs says of West’s character, “He’s walking on his own again. He in no way appears disabled. He’s been through hell and has come out a better, stronger guy. He’s matured. He knows what’s important in his life.”
Shane is said to be on board for at least one more episode, to air shortly before ER goes off for good in May.
West says, “It’s going to be a double surprise. One in the beginning of the season when he returns, and one at the end.”
Yawn.
