Twilight has clinched this weekend’s #1 box office spot in Uh-me-ri-ca!
Friday’s estimates of a $70 million debut turned out to be right on target.
Congrats to creator Stephanie Meyer and breakout star Robert Pattinson!
As we mentioned on Saturday, there’s already a sequel in the works, which was announced this weekend.
Last weekend’s big film, Quantum of Solace, came in at #2 this weekend. The 007 film made another $27 million. Its US 2 week total is an impressive $109 million. Not bad!
And, rounding out the top three is Disney’s animated feature, Bolt.
The doggie-centric flick ‘only’ made the Mouse $27 million. A Disney movie not opening at one is not normal!
