Josh Hartnett just won a $30,000 settlement over a slanderous Daily Mirror story.
The story claimed that Hartnett starred in an impromptu CCTV sex video with a woman in the library of a London SoHO HOtel, resulting in Hartnett’s banishment from the establishment.
Hartnett’s lawyer said that the “Josh Hartnett’s saucy CCTV romp” headline caused “hurt, embarrassment and distress” to “a serious young actor who conducts himself in an appropriate and professional manner at all times.”
A spokeswoman for the Mirror said, “The record will have been set straight and the claimant’s reputation restored,” offering “apologies to the claimant for any distress, hurt and embarrassment caused by the article.”
Hartnett will donate the money to charity.
