The American Idol alum happily obliged, offering up an abridged version of slain Tejano legend Selena's Como La Flor.

I think it is awesome when others perform her songs because it just shows that people do appreciate her and her music. I really would like to see a good cover of "I Could Fall in Love" but damn her voice was so strong in that song so whoever sings it must have a strong voice or it wont sound good. Gloria Estefan did a great job singing it at Selena Vive I must admit, I was impressed!
David Archuleta has an amazing voice and his personality is as an amazing….
I just wish some of you can learn from him……:)

I agree
people who dont understand her cultural significance are the ones who are confused as to why she is still so loved. Selena was not only the pride of the Mexican Americans but of all Latinos, she made people proud of their roots and wasnt afraid to say "Yea, I am Latina so what?" I wish she would have got the chance to finish her English album seeing as that was her dream.

He wasn't even five years old when Selena was murdered and yet he knows her music. I thought he sounded terrific and I would like to hear more! It helps keep her wonderful memory alive.
I was there last night!!! The crowd went CRAZEEEE when he sang this. Obviously, Selena is sacred ground here in Texas. For him to sing her song and to honor his latino heritage like that bonded him to the latinos in the audience forever. David is very very proud of his latino heritage. As many know, his mother is from Honduras and his father is half Spanish. The crowd was mostly latino, I'd say 75% at least. And they adored him. I am not latino, but I was so happy to see David embrace his heritage like this. Viva David Archuleta !!!!

De nada, bbboricua! Forgive my lame attempt at courteous Spanish. I am a Texan born and bred and still live here. And will live here forever. I love learning more about other cultures, especially those so important to my region. I'm a big Archie fan and it makes me so proud to know how proud he is of his heritage. I foresee Spanish recordings in the future. Most definitely.

Dont forget that the anniversary of her passing is coming up on March 31. As far as I am concerned Selena Q. Perez is THE one and only Selena.
Kudos to David A. for saluting her in this way, it means much to her fans and especially her family. Especially those of us who knew of her before her passing and the movie, as there were so many expectations just on the horizons that are now forever out of reach. Many female Latina artists now owe much to her for their success.
