We mentioned earlier today that production has been halted on the new NBC drama Parenthood due to star Maura Tierney‘s undisclosed illness.
Well, Tienery has revealed in an official statement that the ER and Newsradio alum has found a tumor in her breast.
Maura has not learned her diagnosis yet, but her doctors “have all assured [her] this is a very treatable condition” which will require surgery to remove the tumor.
Tierney is more than confident that she will be able to return to the Parenthood set sooner than later after the procedure.
She continues, “I’m very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon.”
