West Wilson remained cool, calm, and collected throughout the three-part Summer House reunion — perhaps too much while discussing all the hurt and pain he and Amanda Batula caused! And his reason why is getting eviscerated by his ex-girlfriend, Ciara Miller!
On the new episode Tuesday night, Ciara Miller breaks down in tears over how “emotional” she felt watching the final moments of Season 10, where she hyped up how “special” Amanda is and how greatly she loves her, knowing her best friend was likely going to go through a major change in her life soon — AKA a breakup with her husband, Kyle Cooke. And she never expected in that moment to lose that same pal months later over a betrayal when she got with her ex, West. Hence the tears.

Jesse Solomon sadly thinks he’s now in the same boat as Ciara, too! The singer feels betrayed by West because his best friend lied to him about the controversial relationship for weeks! He even sobbed in the middle of the reunion because he believes he lost a “brother” due to the scandal! Oh no! And West’s reaction to his bestie crying over him? With zero emotion, he goes:
“I f**king hate that. Obviously, Jesse and I are incredibly close, and hearing him say it doesn’t look good is devastating. I wanted to be here today to apologize and try to articulate well and I… the friendships here matter to me so f**king much and it sucks knowing that I’m responsible for watching the cracks in all of this.”
Mind you, Ciara and Jesse are sobbing during all this. The rest of the cast look heartbroken by the situation, and yet West is sitting on the couch with no emotion on his face — not a tear, nothing! He doesn’t even sound, or at least try to pretend to sound, devastated! You would think West would get emotional over his supposed best friend basically saying they probably won’t be pals moving forward, but no! So that’s why host Andy Cohen had to ask about his blank expression:
“No offense, are you on like, a bunch of beta blockers or what? Everyone is so emotional around you about you and their relationship with and you’re like this. I’m just curious what’s going on.”
To which West replied:
“I’m trying to stay composed as much as possible. There’s nothing –“
Ciara then interjected to suggest he may be a “sociopath.” Damn! Jesse then questioned if West took “beta blockers,” and he confirmed he did and that’s why he’s “not sobbing!” However, he swore he cares and would hug his pal if he had been sitting right next to him during the emotional moment. According to the Cleveland Clinic, beta blockers are medications “most commonly used for problems involving your heart and circulatory system.” They “work by blocking the action of epinephrine and norepinephrine in the organs in your body” and “by doing so, they can prevent your heart from beating too fast, as well as “help relax your heart and blood vessels to lower your blood pressure.” However, what the meds don’t do is stop you from having emotions or prevent you from giving a decent apology to your friends.
If West actually cared enough as he says he does, he would’ve come prepared to speak up more and deliver a heartfelt I’m sorry to everyone regardless. Yet, he didn’t. And quite frankly, no one is buying the beta blockers excuse for his lack of emotion. Even Ciara — who is a registered nurse — is calling out that excuse. She took to Threads hours after part three of the reunion to slam West’s claim, saying:
“Just a medical note: beta blockers DON’T remove emotion. They work by blocking adrenaline from binding to beta receptors in your heart, blood vessels, and muscles (the receptors responsible for the physical symptoms of anxiety like increased heart rate, raised blood pressure, and trembling). The EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE remains, but the physical stress response can’t fully activate. It’s like putting your ‘fight or flight’ symptoms on DND…. enough with the beta blocker bulls**t”
How West thought that excuse would fly with a nurse, we’ll never know! Ciara then doubled down on her sociopath claim in a follow-up post:
“also anxiety and depression aren’t the only thing in the DSM-5, personality disorders exist there as well.”
West better come across as way more apologetic in the upcoming bonus episode if he hopes to salvage his rep one day! Oof!
