All in good fun, of course!
The man behind the original Scream trilogy and the new hit on the CW, The Vampire Diaries, Kevin Williamson, is letting some not-so-gorey detailsout about what is to come in the next installment of Scream.
The niche for the franchise has always been the combination of spoof and actual scare. Kevin reveals that the spoof sections of the flick reflect the changes in scary movies in the last 10 years. (That’s when the last Scream was made.)
He says:
“I’ve [included] manga comics, Asian ghost girl movies, there’s some PG-13 horror movies in there, vampire movies, M. Night Shyamalan movies and torture porn movies, even though they’ve come and gone.”
The big question on everyone’s mind mainly concerns the series’ heroine, Sidney Precott, played by Neve Campbell, who has recently signed on for the next flick.
Though Kevin once swore that no real harm would ever come to his beloved character, not it seems he has had a change of heart:
“The thing about ‘Scream 4’ is that there are a lot of twists and turns, so I can’t promise anything. There are a lot of moving pieces, so we’ll see — but if you’re a ‘Scream’ fan, I think you’re really going to like it.”
It’s the best way to keep Neve from not coming back in any future films. Of course, she could use the work, so she shouldn’t be so quick to let them kill her off!
