Jan Adams is having the worst day of his life today!
Not only has the doctor that operated on Kanye West's mom had MULTIPLE malpractice suits and MULTIPLE arrests for drunk driving, but it has also been revealed that he's been sued for sexual assault.
Adams settled the suit.

First of all yes he should have his licences REMOVED and second of all Kanye's mother should have done more research when choosing her surgeon, any kind of surgery is a major issue and you need to make sure your doctor is not only qualified but has a clean history (no malpractice lawsuits etc etc) maybe Ms. Kanye was in a hurry? maybe she didnt care? whatever the reason it doesnt matter now because she is gone forever, they need to investigate this "surgeon" asap, and I am sure they are, something needs to be done and let this be a lesson to everyone.
This doctor was also the host of a show in Discovery Health called "Plastic Surgery: Before and After." Not sure if that show is still on, but it has been within the past 3 years or so.

Also, some people choose to settle suits out of court even when they are not guilty because they do not want the publicity of things actually going to court. Just because somebody has DUI's and has been sued for sexual misconduct does not mean that he is guilty of malpractice towards Dr. West. This could have totally been avoided. All of that information is available to the public. If I was paying some one money to do work on my body, I would check them out immediately. Some people do checks on contractors before they work on a house so why not check on someone who's going to be "working" on you?

You can check someone's medical malpractice record, or his personal record. the FIRST thing I would do as a big celeb is find out WHO is operating on my mother. You hear nightmare plastic surgery stories all the time on news shows. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Maybe for us laymen who scrape together cash to get a procedure, not as many resources to check things out are available, but you'd think a major star's mother would get THE BEST to work on her. I kinda don't get this. It's a terrible tragedy though. Many doctors think they are Gods.
wow this is certainly a very sad situation, No one knows if he did anything wrong at this point, hopefully for his sake he did not, but if he did then he will surely be paying out of his ass. Unfortunatly this is a sad lesson learned in how to check up on your doctor before you let then perform invasive procedures on you. In every state there is a database which lists all doctors licenced to practice and if they have been charged with malpractice and what the out come is.

The sad thing is, Kayne's own racism killed his mother. Kayne is a huge racist and undoubtetly picked a black doctor as his first priority, regardless of qualifications. I'm not saying there aren't perfectly qualified black doctors - obviously there are many. But all Kayne saw was color, and he pick an unqualified doctor because all he wanted was a black doctor. This guy is a tv doctor on either TLC or discovery health. He hosts a show about medical issues.

I heard she was going to have the procedure done through another surgeon. She didn't pass the health exams.. The original surgeon recommended that she get some sort of clearance through another medical practitioner prior to the surgery.
She ignored this and seeks out another surgeon.

The first doctor noticed Donda West had a thyroid condition. He realized it could lead to serious heart problems. He did ask her to check with his internal doctor before she did the surgery.
Instead, Ms. West chose this hack to work on her. She didn't follow through on the 1st doctor and now she's dead. She put the surgery off several times. She also chose to have the surgery done during a moon retrograde.
End of Part I
I work with many doctors of all races and the black doctors are just as smart, caring and compassionate. Any surgical procedures has it's risks including death, though rare. It spells it out quite clearly on the consent that is signed by the patient BEFORE the surgical procedure. Mrs. West died AT HOME, not in the hospital so she probably had a heart attack, blood clot or a fat clot (a fat clot can form after liposuction).

I don't think race has ANYTHING to do with what happened here. It appears that she was already at risk before she had this surgery. She should have just ate less and worked out….but no she took the lazy way out.

Can we please not put all the blame on this doctor. Yes, he was clearly at fault and yes it is undisputed that his past transgressions make him suspect, but doesn't Mrs West (I don't use 'Dr' because Phd's are just stupid, real doctors use knives) deserve most of the blame. She was previously advised by other plastic surgeons that she was a classic health risk (age and heart disease) and shouldn't be a candidate for elective surgery. Here's the fact: she was informed of the risk, ignored advice, sought some shady unlicensed doctor for, my favorite part, cosmetic surgery! She was a moron and the media should recognize this. She didn't 'battle' or suffer an 'ordeal' of life or death situation, she disregarded medical professionals' opinions and knowlingly risked her life for new tits and abs. Bad doctoring is an equal opportunity offense. It's clear that Dr. West allowed vanity to reign over good judgement. This happens w/plastic surgery all the time. People refuse to understand that surgery IS surgery and always risky. She was smart enough to know better and to have followed the first doctors advice. People are just way too casual about plastic surgery and assholes like him take full advantage of this. Oprah needs to start checking all these people she has on her program out.
