Talk about the ULTIMATE country music trifecta!

While there were many great, high-energy performances during last night's 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, it was Tim McGraw who really stole the show, with a live rendition of his new emotionally-charged single, Highway Don't Care, off his new album Two Lanes of Freedom!

Of course, he couldn't have done it alone!

The country superstar had pretty talented assistance on the ballad, with Taylor Swift on back-up vocals and Keith Urban showing off what a force of NATURE he is on guitar!

Simple, straightforward, yet more powerful than anything else that took the stage last night!

Oh boy… it sounds like Nicki Minaj just may need to check herself!

After she caused quite the commotion on Wednesday night, by showing up nearly 15 minutes late to American Idol’s first live show, Friday might not be the only pink Nicki will be seeing!

While Ryan Seacrest kept his cool during the show as he joked about Nicki’s lateness — all while judges Keith Urban and Randy Jackson awkwardly responded and Mariah Carey looked completely unamused — what happened backstage was a whole other story!

An insider revealed:

Last night, American Idol presented its top ten finalists and at the start of the show, judge Nicki Minaj was nowhere to be found!

When the show went on at 8pm, Ryan Seacrest pointed out how only three of the four judges were seated at the table and made it clear that they were “live and on time.”

After Ryan explained that Nicki was late after getting stuck in traffic on the 405 coming from Malibu, her Minajesty arrived about 13 minutes into the show, missing Curtis Finch, Jr.’s performance!

Once Nicki finally did get seated at the judges’ table, she showed up wearing a black hoodie over her head, along with some shades that covered her eyes… and made no mention of her lateness!!!

We’re hearing that the Starships songstress was eventually asked to take the shades off, to which she said she, “had to check her eyes” first!

Did she not have time to get her eye makeup done or… ??? LOLz!

By the time Kree Harrison hit the stage, Nicki’s on camera antics were in FULL effect, which led Keith Urban to question what was in her cup!

Ha! All while Mariah Carey divaliciously looked oh so unamused!!!

Following the judges’ critiques, Ryan uncomfortably asked Nicki what was in her cup and she answered, “syrup!”

Oops! Probably not the best thing to say… ! We’re sure Idol producers sat Minaj down for a little meeting afterwards!

One of these hopefuls (above) WILL BE our next American Idol!!

But which one?!

During last night's extended AI episode, half of the 10 semi-finalists kissed their Idol dreams goodbye…

But ten were chosen to continue on in the musical competition!

The first finalist to be called was

The suspense is killing us…who will it be?!

American Idol is just getting good now that the contestants are being whittled down to take to the big stage.

Now is the best time to start making those winning predictions, and Keith Urban has already locked his in.

Sooo….who is it already, right?!

The country singing judge admitted he thinks this year is going to shake shake shakity shake things up:

Nicole Kidman made a goddess-like arrival on the red carpet at the Oscars!

The ever-so-beautiful actress donned a sparkly black and gold L’Wren Scott gown and looked as lovely as the awards being given out tonight!

The form-fitted dress, however, was no match for her favorite accessory — hubby Keith Urban! Ha!

Looks like she stole some gold from Oscar himself!

Nicole completed the look with some swept back hair and face-framing loose curls… though, we wish she would've gone for a different hairstyle!

And NOT fresh as in they constantly get "fresh" with each other! LOLz!

Despite controversy, tension, and SUPER awkward auditions, Kelly Clarkson — the ORIGINAL American Idol — has given two Grammy-winning thumbs UP to the additions of Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban as the new American Idol judges!

The soon-to-be wife recently dished:

"The show needed to be freshened up a bit… I'm a huge Mariah Carey fan. If I had seen her as one of the judges when I was trying out, that would have been so cool."

Whoop whoop!

Hmm, we wonder if Mariah would have given Kelly an initial, Hollywood "YES"?!

LOLzz!

It's nice to hear SOME positive feedback concerning the new judges, as other former American Idol contestants — like Jennifer Hudson for example — haven't been as kind!

But whatever you may think about Nicki and Mariah's onscreen "banter," you can't deny it's intriguing to watch!
