Nicole Kidman is breaking her silence.
Nearly six months after news broke the Babygirl star and her husband Keith Urban were divorcing after 19 years of marriage, she’s FINALLY opening up about it. In a wide-ranging interview with Variety published on Tuesday, the outlet asked whether 2026 is the year of Nicole… and she had the following to say:
“Well, not last year. I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell.”
As for whether she’s ready to come out of her shell this year, she added:
“Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go.’ I have Practical Magic with [Sandra Bullock]. I’ll be in full witch mode.”

The Oscar-winning actress went on to express she is “doing all right” in the months following her separation from Keith. She passed on getting into too many specifics, but did reveal she still views him as “family.” The 58-year-old dished:
“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
That’s very mature! We mean, two decades is a LONG time to be with someone. We imagine it’s been a challenge uncoupling! Nicole is keeping a very positive mindset about it all… which we applaud given all the rumors that have followed Keith and his seemingly messy love life.

However, it sounds like he still has work to do with their daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. Recently, a source spoke out to RadarOnline revealing the teen girls have “cut themselves off” from their father as they believe he’s “an insensitive dog” who “betrayed” their mom:
“The girls still love Keith very much and it’s likely in time, they’ll soften and want to spend time with him. But he has a lot of explaining to do if he wants to reestablish his relationship with them, and the secretive way he’s gone about things has done him no favors.”
Nicole and Keith finalized their divorce in January. The Being the Ricardos star was granted primary custody of the girls, while Keith gets them every other weekend. Going forward, Nicole told Variety she intends to prioritize spending even more time with the teens and taking her career in exciting new directions — possibly even directing something herself:
“I’ve circled it. But then I’ve been too busy or too tired. There are still things I want to do as an actor. I want to do theater again. I’ve done Broadway and the West End a couple of times. But I’m interested in off Broadway and even some regional theater at some point, like in Chicago.”
She continued:
“Those things are different and exciting; you just need to get your children to a certain age to be able to do it. Right now is not the time for me to do that; I’ve got to take care of these kids. That’s sort of in my ‘Future’ folder. I’ve got to fill this summer with kid stuff.”
