There's no question this must be excruciatingly difficult on the entire family.

Congrats to Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford!
As we reported, The Great Gatsby star shocked us all by showing up on the British Film Institute's London Film Festival red carpet sans baby bump. While promoting her new flick Suffragette on The Graham Norton Show over the weekend, the 30-year-old actress confirmed she gave birth to a baby girl three weeks ago.
Although she didn't offer many details about her new bundle of joy, we are thrilled to see her happy and healthy! This is Carey's first child with her Mumford & Sons rocker husband, who she married quietly back in 2012.
Miz Mulligan isn't one to divulge much information about her personal life, but we will take what we can get!
Changing topics during the interview, she switched the focus back to the film, which comes out October 23. She said:
What's in a name?
Basically, we learn that Meryl HATES her own name and that Nicole inherited the Hawaiian name Hokulani from a baby elephant who was living at the Honolulu Zoo when she was born!
Pretty cute, right?
Well, Graham and his team decided to reach out to the zoo and see how Hokulani is doing these days, and they got some pretty upsetting news in return!
Ch-ch-check out Nicole's reaction to finding out her namesake has been dead for decades (above)!
We sure are!
The actress almost looks like she was never even pregnant at all!
Meryl was like a cool glass of water in her blue Lanvin gown next to her co-star's more elaborate outfit, but both women exuded confidence and class.
Which look is your fave???

Where did Carey Mulligan's baby bump go?!
Well, it disappeared because the brunette beauty gave birth LAST WEEK!
On Wednesday, the Oscar nominee made an appearance at the British Film Institute's London Film Festival to promote her latest film, Suffragette — and boy did she certainly shock everyone with her lack of pregnancy.

If you thought Meryl Streep could do no wrong — think again!
The Hollywood legend posed in a recent photoshoot for Time Out London magazine alongside Carey Mulligan, Romola Garai, and Anne-Marie Duff to promote their upcoming film Suffragette!
But the Oscar winner and her co-stars suffered a bit of backlash online for wearing T-shirts that featured what some considered a controversial slogan, which read:
"I'd rather be a rebel than a slave."
The slogan quoted a 1913 speech by women's rights activist Emmeline Pankhurst, whom Meryl portrays in the film, in which she says that if women don't get the right to vote than they are essentially slaves to the men that do:
Carey Mulligan has been concealing a growing baby bump from our prying eyes, and she's been doing such a great job — until someone decided to spill the beans to the press!
Apparently the actress has been carrying for a while now — even cleverly hiding the bump under a boxy dress at the Drama Desk Awards last month!
We totes alluded to a possible baby bump, and little did we know we were SO right!
A source on Broadway revealed the couple were planning on keeping the news mum for a while. They said:
Was it a requirement for 'Best Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role In A Play' nominees to be demurely covered up at the Tony Awards??
Because if so, Ruth Wilson and Carey Mulligan are nailing the rules like it's nobody's business!
The losers (Helen Mirren won their category) both chose oddly shaped frocks for their moment on the step-and-repeat — and we have to say, they're both misses.
The Constellations star opted for a true pink dress, which was a mix of a bodycon and ballgown silhouette. Utterly confusing!
While the Skylight actress chose an ill fitting strapless gown in oxblood.
And if this makes up for anything, their hair and makeup were pretty!
