While we would have loved to see the always classy Carey Mulligan’s take on Hillary Clinton in James Ponsoldt’s upcoming biopic, it seems the actress has passed on the epic role as she was reportedly not ready to commit to the project.
Though this is slightly upsetting, it does open up the opportunity for some of Hollywood’s finest actresses, including those on the short list!
From Scarlett Johansson to Jessica Chastain, we’re dying to know who James will pick! So we’ve put together a special poll (below) of ladies with acting chops that'd do Hillary justice!
And keep in mind, though Mrs. Clinton's beauty still radiates in her own powerful way, she was quite the looker back in the day!
Who Should Play The Young Hillary Clinton?
- Jessica Chastain (33%)
- Amy Poehler (26%)
- Jennifer Lawrence (16%)
- Emma Stone (10%)
- Scarlett Johansson (14%)

Being foreign born may keep Carey Mulligan from ever becoming president, but it won't stop her from playing a possible future one!
The Great Gatsby star is in talks to portray Hillary Clinton in the upcoming biopic Rodham!
Carey is a surprising choice, not only because of her British accent but because she wasn't even on the short list!
But sources say the Oscar-nominated star is director James Ponsoldt's first choice, above Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, and Amanda Seyfried!
That's some stiff competition for the role of the young Hillary!
Though Carey does have some experience in a pantsuit!

What’s the rush, you two?!
Carey Mulligan and her husband Marcus Mumford were caught leaving a Hollywood hotspot after spending the evening with some friends Saturday night.
The Great Gatsby star, who recently returned from Cannes Film Festival, kept things silky in an all-black outfit, while her hubby stayed warm in a leather jacket.
While Carey stunned as usual, she also looked like she was ready to get to bed!
We know, that late night partying can be exhausting!

Oh, loook. It's Carey Mulligan wearing a black outfit. How original.
After making a pit stop in Australia, The Great Gatsby jetted over to Shanghai to attend the Hugo Boss winter 2013 show on Thursday night.
Needless to say, we were put into a sartorially induced coma when Carey walked the black carpet in her all black ensemble which included a satin bustier top, slacks, a blazer and her tried and true Brian Atwood platform sandals.
It's seriously time to stage a fashion intervention with this girl. She's too young and cute to be wearing all these boring, colorless and predictable looks!

Man, is she OVER this promo tour, or what?
Carey Mulligan may have been all smiles at Tiffany & Co.'s dinner in honor of The Great Gatsby in Sydney on Thursday, but her outfit is making us downright depressed.
We'd gotten used to her minimalist dressing tendencies, and she looked wonderful in some of them, but her Christian Dior gown could not have been any less interesting.
What's worse is Carey didn't even bother dressing it up with all the extravagant Tiffany jewels at her disposal, instead settling on simple diamond studs and nothing else.
Talk about a missed opportunity!
Barely-there makeup (cute smile, though!) and the same old updo had us reaching for the snooze button.

Okay, so, Carey Mulligan is holding on to the minimalist black & white motif for dear life, but she did look hot in her signature style on Wednesday!
The actress braved the rain again to attend The Great Gatsby premiere, this time in Australia, in a blush-toned Nina Ricci top, Lanvin slacks and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
That bustier is doing wonders for her decollete and we're SO glad she opted for it! But we don't envy all the traveling she's been doing lately.
We can feel the jet-lag from here!
Three additional great things about her look were that tousled hairdo, those Saint Laurent Mary Jane pumps, and that pretty smile.
We like! Do U???

Not since Rooney Mara has an actress been so enamored with black and white.
Carey Mulligan showed no signs of giving up her minimalist aesthetic at the Inside Llewyn Davis premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.
The 27-year-old looked sophisticated and elegantly understated in a contrast Vionnet gown that lacked ostentatious sparkle, but still packed a punch.
It's all about the construction with this one!
The folded detail at the bust, center slit, and seksi keyhole opening are simply to-die-for!
Carey accessorized with the same old Brian Atwood heels, no jewels, and Justin Timberlake.
