Sadly, Dr. Callie Torres has flatlined…
After its season 12 finale, Grey's Anatomy actress Sara Ramirez wrote a cryptic tweet that hinted at her departure.
The 40-year-old wrote:
On Thursday, ABC confirmed that the thespian is indeed leaving the hit show after ten seasons.
Ramirez released the following statement
Meredith Grey might be having a hard time dealing with McDreamy's death on Grey's Anatomy this season, but Ellen Pompeo isn't too upset over it!
The actress stopped by Monday's Ellen DeGeneres to talked about filming the twelfth season of Shonda Rhimes' medical drama.
And even though fans were devastated over Patrick Dempsey's departure last season, the 46-year-old seems to have gotten a second wind from the death of her onscreen husband!
Speaking about the show's continued success, Pompeo said:
"It's amazing how much you get done without a penis."
Ch-ch-check out the video (below) to see Ellen give Ellen the trophy, and play a game of heads up!
On Thursday, Hillary Clinton got a pretty huge endorsement when Shonda Rhimes and the leads from her hits Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder, and Grey's Anatomy all vocalized their support for the Presidential hopeful. LOVES it!
Not to mention, they also highlighted EXACTLY why they are standing with the "champion for all of us." Hear, hear!
Be sure to ch-ch-check out the powerful endorsement vid for yourself (below) and also let us know if you want H.C. to cameo in one of Shonda's shows.
Ellen Pompeo must be afraid of those rabid James Bond fans!
On November 5, Ellen apologized once AGAIN for comments she made about Daniel Craig's announcement that he would rather "slit his wrists' than continue to be a part of the beloved franchise. In response to Daniel's dramatic words, the actress said he needed a "reality check".
Obviously, Craig's fans did NOT like the Grey's Anatomy star's assessment and they quickly went on the attack.
While the mom apologized in face of all the backlash, she's now setting the record straight once and for all, saying:
"Listen, I feel bad about that. That was a morning where I was all caffeine-d up, as I usually am at 7 a.m., and I was…scrolling through my Twitter, and I was seeing all this stuff about the refugees fleeing and drowning in the ocean. And then an article about his comments was in my Twitter feed."
Seems fair enough! We've all had regrettable Twitter moments!
In case you missed it, the Spectre actor revealed in a new interview, "I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists" before playing Bond again.
So when Ellen heard, she took to Twitter, slamming his statement:
Considering the actress has been on Grey's Anatomy for ten years, it's not hard to imagine why exactly she might be upset.
You don't bite the hand that feeds you, ya know??
Though when a few Twitter users pointed out that maybe there was more to the story, Ellen basically backtracked, saying:
Money in the bank!
That's because both of the actresses earned $28.5 million in 2015, according to the most recent Forbes list of highest-paid TV actresses!
This marks four straight years that Vergara has been the highest-paid actress on TV thanks to her role on Modern Family. And Cuoco-Sweeting, who reportedly earns $1 million per episode of The Big Bang Theory, joins Vergara at the top this year!
Rounding out the list,
Shonda Rhimes believes in the power of love!
During a press junket on Tuesday, the Grey's Anatomy creator defended her decision to kill off Patrick Dempsey's beloved character Derek Shepherd.
While some fans are still getting over McDreamy's tragic death, Rhimes revealed she had to kill him off because it was the only way to preserve the love between him and Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo)!
Speaking at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the 45-year-old explained the alternative would go against everything the show set up, saying:
"What were the options? Either Der was going to walk out on Mer and leave her high and dry, and what was that going to mean? That would suggest the love wasn't true, the thing we had said for 11 years was a lie."
Rhimes explained that McDreamy's death was the only way he could leave his wife, continuing:
