Shonda Rhimes, say it ain't so!!
At the end of last season, the Grey's Anatomy showrunner warned fans that a few of their favorite characters were getting axed, but she didn't say anything about them asking to leave the show!
Back in May, we
cried our eyes out witnessed Chyler Leigh's character (Lexie Grey) leave the series in a dramatic death scene. Apparently that was too much for McSteamy Dr. Mark Sloan to bare!
Eric Dane, who played the love of Lexie's life, has announced he is leaving
us the show as well!
Dane told reporters:
Oh no! Sad!
Stories like this are popping up all over Southern Cali as winds are seriously blowing through the area, destroying pretty much everything in its path.
One of the causalities was Eric Dane's home, which he shares with Rebecca Gayheart. Eric arrived home today to find a large tree had smashed into his house due to the strong windows. Thankfully, the family wasn't hurt, even though Eric, Rebecca and their daughter Billie were on inside the house when the accident occurred.
We're just so thankful they are safe and sound. Poor dears must have been scared to death!
Houses can be replaced. Loved ones, not so much!

As a dad, a job we know he takes very seriously!
Yesterday, Eric Dane was spotted with his daughter, Billie Baby, enjoying a lovely afternoon at Coldwater Park in Beverly Hills. Earlier last month, Eric checked himself into rehab for a pain killers addiction, but you wouldn't guess it from the smile on his face and the bounce in his step as he spends some quality time with his little lady.
We're so pleased you got the help that you needed, McSteamy, AND that you faced your demons and overcame them. That little princess there probably missed her daddy terribly. Hopefully, this will be the last time she'll have to miss you.

Shame. Then again, with a new baby on the way, we applaud him for seeking the help he needs to be a better man for his family.
Eric Dane has checked into a Los Angeles rehab clinic according to his spokesperson. The Grey's Anatomy star is in the middle of a 30-day stint, which his spokesperson insists will not conflict with his responsibilities to the show. His rep told
What wonderful news! We're so happy for them both!
Life & Style reports that Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane are expecting their second child together! Friends close to the couple reveal that Rebecca and Eric are in a "really good place" right now and Rebecca is just "so happy" that they're about to have another baby!
So sweet! Such a gift!
Congratulations to the happy couple!

Only someone that precious and precocious could pull off the bucket hat look! LOLZ!
Yesterday, Rebecca Gayheart enjoyed the crisp day with her daughter, Billie Beatrice Dane at Coldwater Canyon Park in Beverly Hills. The mommy/daughter duo took a little stroll, played in the sandbox and even had a swiiiiiiing!
So nice - but where was Daddy??? Hasn't McSteamy put away his scalpel for the summer???

Oh, and there might be more than one!
SPOILER ALERT! DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHO'S GETTING HITCHED ON GREY'S ANATOMY.
If you watched last night's musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, you know that Callie accepted Arizona's proposal of marriage after enduring a very trying and traumatic day. Well, expect to feast your eyes upon the lovely ladies' lesbian nuptials on May 5th - and don't expect it to be drama free!
According to sources, the wedding is going to be a nightmare for one of the brides as Callie has to deal with repercussions of her family's lack of acceptance of the union. For some twisty reason undivulged at the time, Hector Elizondo will be reprising his role as Callie's father for the occasion, but he won't be walking her down the aisle. The bearer of this bad news will be Callie's mother, Lucia Torres, played by Gina Gallego, who starts trouble for her daughter on arrival. Sara Ramirez explained to sources:
“What’s really beautiful about this episode is that there is a moment where Callie is really kind of doubting herself and her life and the choices that she’s made. To pick this person to be with for the rest of her life is not received well by her mother and that presents a real difficulty for her because I think she looks to her mother for some kind of emotional embracing around this whole event.”
Well, she might not get the love she wants from her mother, but she sure will get it from her co-workers, especially Mark Sloan (played by Eric Dane…Yum!) who Sara reveals ends up walking her dow the aisle as Dr. Miranda Bailey officiates.
But there is one more twist in the story that we feel inclined to mention. According to reports, two very significant characters were missing from the scene when the ladies shot their wedding - Meredith and Derek!
Could their absence of sign of big things to come for the show's main match? Could they possibly be getting hitched as well on the show! We'll just have to wait and see.
We didn't much care for last night's musical episode, but perhaps this big, emotional overload hour will make up for it.
