We can all pretty much agree that Angelina Jolie is extremely brave for sharing the news of her double mastectomy with the world. But Zoe Saldana took it one step further when she said she thinks she's "the ultimate badass!"
We couldn't agree more!
The lovely actress was walking the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of her upcoming film Star Trek Into Darkness when she said Angelina's announcement is very important and inspiring for women who could be facing the same risks!
Here at FitPerez.com, we are ALL ABOUT being healthy and beating cancer.
That's why it's a no-brainer for us to spread the works about the TRASH CANCER INITIATIVE, which, obviously, is all about kicking cancer's ass!
Straight from Fran Drescher and Cancer Schmancer comes the new initiative, slated for September 29th where they'll be throwing 1,000 Trash Cancer parties across the US.
It's no secret: Aviva Drescher, Fran Drescher's cousin and newest Housewife, is an amputee.
What we didn't know, however was how or why it happened… something that we've been pretty curious about!
So Aviva explained: she lost the leg when she was six years old in a farming accident while visiting a friend upstate.
But that didn't stop her from having a fulfilling life and love life! In fact, it kinda weeded the jerks from her dating sphere:
“When I first started dating at Fieldston [her high school]. But in law school, it was different. People are sexually attracted to each other, and after a date or two I’d have to tell them. It’s a great way to weed out the ones who shouldn’t have been with me. It was almost a protection from the bad ones out there."
We're so totally excited to see what she brings to the show — regardless of the amputation backstory!
A FitPerez reader is worried about toxic chemicals in her beauty products, so she wrote Fran Drescher for advice, asking:
My name is Lisa, and I'm from Atlanta. I've read about all of the toxic chemicals in beauty products, but there are so many, I have trouble remembering them when I'm at the store. Do you have any suggestions?
Living a healthy lifestyle means making informed decisions about what you are putting in or around your body. We don't know about you guys, but we don't want to put anything in our body that can cause cancer!
Fran Drescher's Cancer Schmancer movement is encouraging people to not only live a healthy lifestyle, but a preventative one too. In order to avoid a medical diagnosis that nobody ever wants to hear, we need to be mindful of the possibly carcinogenic chemicals and toxins that are found in products we use every single day!
With more and more chemicals being linked to deadly diseases, it's more important than ever to be an educated consumer and demand that our elected officials begin regulating manufacturers' unchecked use of dangerous ingredients.
Watch the video above for all the reasons why U should care about what goes into the products you use and support the movement at www.cancerschmancer.org!
