Kristen Bell, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sarah Jessica Parker, & Many MORE Show Support With Their Singing Voices In 'Broadway For Orlando'!

no title
This is the best news to come out after the Orlando shooting so far!
The LGBT community was rocked to its core early Sunday morning when 49 of our brothers and sisters were senselessly murdered while partying at Pulse Nightclub.
Authorities and politicians are currently fighting amongst themselves whether to call this a foreign or domestic terrorist attack, or whether to blame the deaths on gun control… but we know this was first and foremost a hate crime.

That’s why it’s more important than ever for everyone who identifies as queer — as well as our allies — to support one another in our time of need.
Luckily, the Broadway community could not be tighter with us gays, which is why we’re happy to report that Broadway For Orlando is here to help!
Celebs like Kristen Bell, Sara Bareilles, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Idina Menzel, and sooooo many more will be raising money for the LGBT Center of Central Florida with a musical theater cover of Burt Bacharach‘s What the World Needs Now Is Love!

Broadway Records President Van Dean, director Seth Rudetsky, and producer James Wesley are the trio responsible for the brilliant idea, saying:

“The Broadway community was so terribly shaken and devastated by the horrific tragedy in Orlando. Everyone wanted to do something as quickly as possible that would truly make a difference. On Monday, my husband James woke me up at 7:30 AM and suggested we rally our friends and colleagues to do a We Are the World type recording and raise money for the victims and their families. We started making calls and suddenly we had tons of theatre actors along with an orchestra and the services of a fully-staffed recording studio, all willing to donating their time and talent. Our community of artists has banded together as we always do to show we can end this cycle of violence and intolerance. Love WILL prevail!”

The gayest version of What the World Needs Now Is Love ever produced will be available June 20 at BroadwayRecords.com before moving over to iTunes!
Love wins, y’all!
