Songs That Get Chillingly REAL About Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, & Other Mental Health Issues

Depression is an asshole.

If you're going through it, just know that you're not alone — many artists have struggled with their mental health, too.

Bands like Paramore, Green Day, and Twenty One Pilots have all written great (surprisingly upbeat) music to make sense of and overcome their demons.

Sadly, not every musician on our list won their battles with depression, but they all helped listeners gain a better understanding of their own darker thoughts.

Kat Von D Gets Backlash Over New Eyeliner Name — And Hits Back With A Rant Of Her Own!

Last month, Kat Von D released a new eyeliner called "Basket Case."

No one said boo about the beauty product at the time, but now the liner — named for the Green Day song and even featuring Billie Joe Armstrong in the advertising — is getting the wrong kind of attention.

An Instagram user calling herself Holly Quinn laid out a case against Kat as making light of mental health issues and specifically exploiting the images of Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, punk idols who infamously suffered from mental illness — and died violently in their early twenties.

The punk fan's message was clearly enough to raise Kat's hackles, as she commented on the post (below):

Confirming what we knew yesterday, Green Day has released a statement that they were unaware of an acrobat's death on stage at the Mad Cool Music Festival in Madrid Spain that occurred just minutes before the band's set.

As we reported on Saturday, acrobat Pedro Aunion Monroy died in a performance right before Green Day's set on Saturday, falling to the stage in a horrifying moment caught on camera.

This is the worst.

Pedro Aunion Monroy, a 42-year-old acrobat from Brighton, United Kingdom, fell more than 100 feet to his death on Friday night during a Green Day performance at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Spain.

Worse still, the accident — which took place high above the stage in an illuminated cage in the middle of a tribute to Prince — was caught on video by fans there for the show.

The video itself fortunately doesn't show the immediate impact or aftermath, but it's nevertheless incredibly jarring and should only be viewed with caution by those who can handle what they're about to see (below):

Green Day Drops Anti-Trump Lyric Video Reminding Us We Live In Troubled Times — Check Out The Best Donald Trump Protest Songs HERE!

| Filed under: Music MinuteDonald TrumpGreen Day

On Monday, Green Day dropped an extremely relevant lyric video for their song Troubled Times off their latest album, Revolution Radio.

The music video shows images of Donald Trump's hate speech and, so appropriately for MLK Day, images of Martin Luther King Jr. and his March on Washington.

Lead Singer Billie Joe Armstrong released a statement about the song and video, saying:

"Today we celebrate love and compassion more than ever."

The Dookie band obviously feels it's VERY important to remind people how much hate Trump breeds, and thankfully there are plenty of other artists that agree…

Moby Responds To Donald Trump Asking Him To DJ His Inauguration — With A Major Challenge & A Revolutionary Playlist!

Donald Trump's inauguration has become such a sh*t show!

On Monday, Moby took to Instagram to reveal he had been asked to DJ one of Donald's inauguration balls. Let's just say the entertainer's response was HILARIOUS.

As we previously reported, the famed DJ was a vocal opponent of Drumpf throughout the 2016 election and he's always been an outspoken liberal.

While it might seem weird for Trump's team to reach out to the musician, it seems totally logical to us considering the president-elect has been rejected by a long list of entertainers who flat-out refused to perform at his inauguration. Even Charlotte Church declined and dissed Donald's request.

Per the 51-year-old's funny IG post, he joked that he'd only play the inauguration ball if Trump would FINALLY release his tax returns!

Ch-ch-check out Moby's response to the ridiculousness (below)!
