Paul Templer was a travel guide who used to take tourists down the Zambezi River.

While in Zimbabwe, when leading a kayak tour group down the river near Victoria Falls, there was a hippo attack.

The hippo overturned the kayak of one of his clients.

As he went to help the tourist, he was suddenly attacked himself.

Before he knew what was going on, he realized he was headfirst, down the throat of a hippo!!

Ooooh…looks like this little babe is in trawble!!!!

A pygmy hippo at the Lowry Park Zoo finally has a name and she is loving life!

Zola is the second hippo birth in the zoo's history and Zsa Zsa is making sure her cutie is big and strong.

Except when she takes an unsupervised swim! Then it's time for Mean Mama!

Pygmy hippos are currently listed as endangered so we know Zola is a welcome addition to the fam!

Does anyone remember their first meal? Probably not….but we bet you were super excited about it!

But not as excited as this baby hippo! He can't wait to grab a bite to eat.

He's even practicing on dirt first!

A baby pygmy hippo cutie is squirming around with glee at Zoo Wroclaw in Poland

She is the third calf for mama Elpunia and papa Carlos, and the babe is sticking extra close to mama.

But this fearless tiny tot took a bath on her first day of life!

There are fewer than 3000 pygmy hippos in the wild so this courage is definitely need for the species!

Awwww…baby steps, little one…baby steps!

Georgina, the baby pygmy hippo is causing a big splash when it comes to her zoo debut.

The tiny hungry hungry hippo is the second for mama Flora and papa Tapon, coming just 18 months after Georgina's big bro (and first pygmy hippo born in Europe), Sapo.

The pygmy hippo is considered "Threatened" and the newborn is a welcome addition for the species.

Now she cares about is staying afloat!!!

Solly the hippo dies during rescue operation by reuters

He was so close!!!

Solly was stuck in a pool for three days after he was chased off by his herd in South Africa.

The hippo became an instant celebrity, receiving his own Twitter account and everything.

Rescues tried to rescue Solly and sprayed water on him to keep him cool.

Unfortunately, they were too late…and he died during the attempt.
