Karma's a bitch!

John Edwards, who famously cheated on his dying wife, apparently has a life-threatening heart condition...or is trying to prolong the time until he has to go to trial for all those campaign finance violations!

The former senator is charged with conspiracy, issuing false statements and violating campaign contribution laws, but asked the judge last month to delay his criminal trial because of the medical condition.

This guy doesn't exactly have a history of being honest, so who knows what he's got up his sleeve, but his cardiologist says he is scheduled for surgery next month.

At a hearing on Friday, Judge Catherine Eagles delayed his criminal trial until March 26 where he still intends to plead not guilty.

We hope John's surgery goes well and feels better real soon because we can't wait to see him be brought to justice.

He broke up with his baby momma over the summer, but there are claims that recent heart troubles have given John Edwards a new out look on life.

The disgraced politician reportedly spent the holidays with his former mistress, Rielle Hunter, and their 3-year-old love child. A source close to the couple confrims that the couple is back on, AND possibly getting married. According to the source,

"John believed he was facing death, and that's why he suddenly proposed to Rielle. He told her, 'life is too short. Let's get married right away.'"

How sweet! Sounds like he's had a real change of heart, unless.... John could be motivated by something other than love! (Odd for a politician, right?)

Raoul Felder, a New York divorce attorney says getting Hunter to marry him could fix most his problems... the legal ones, anyway. He says that

"If John Edwards could convince Rielle Hunter to marry him, it would be a masterstroke."

You see, if the couple are married, Rielle would be able to exempt herself from testifying in the ongoing case against her new husband when he goes to trail for misusing $1million in campaign funds to cover up his affair and the birth of their daughter.

Without her testimony the prosecution will be missing a key wittiness, which would for sure help John avoid jail time!

Federal Election Commission ruled unanimously that John Edwards needed to repay $2.3 million to the treasury.

Honestly, we saw this from a mile away.

Rod Blagojevich was found guilty by jurors on 17 of 20 charges today.

The charges included attempting to sell Barack Obama’s vacated U.S. Senate seat, which was a main focus of prosecutors banking on the fact that he was actually "serious" when he made the comments over the phone.

The former governor and his wife were "shocked" (really?) at the verdict and he had this to say:

"I frankly am stunned. There's not much left to say other than we want to get home to our little girls and talk to them and explain things to them and then try to sort things out."

More like get home and enjoy the smell of sweet, free, air as much as possible before you get put in the clink!

Ha!

But really, it's good to see a dirty politician get taken down. He and John Edwards could request to be bunkmates, maybe!

Judging by that huge grin on his face, it seems former Presidential hopeful John Edwards doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong.

The adulterer was taken in earlier this month after being indicted for allegedly spending about $1 million in campaign funds to cover up his mistake mistress and love child.

And all we can really say is…good for her!

The National Enquirer is reporting that before her death, Elizabeth Edwards managed to exact the ultimate revenge on her cheating, dirtbag husband, John Edwards, by recording a secret videotape in which she revealed everything she knew about his affair with Rielle Hunter and its subsequent cover-up, so she could pass it along to the prosecutors investigating him for campaign finance violations!

According to sources, Edwards reached out to her daughter, Cate, in December of 2010, and forced her to agree that if anything were to happen to John, she would take care of their younger children. That's when shiz got real!

The insider explains:

“Elizabeth wanted to exact revenge against John for destroy­ing their 33-year marriage and family by cheating with Rielle. It was Elizabeth’s idea to secret­ly record a video and tell what knew of the affair and John’s horrific betrayal. It was then – without Cate’s knowledge – that Elizabeth turned the video camera on herself. She passed the video to a close friend and asked that it be sent to prosecutors. On the secret video, Elizabeth spells out EVERYTHING she knew. Elizabeth wanted to haunt John and Rielle – literally from her grave – and she has."

What can we say? Payback's a bitch.

As much as we hate to be negative, we think that for the amount of pain and suffering she endured at his hands, we can only hope that her dying wish comes true.

Yeah. As if he'd actually come clean!

John Edwards has pled not guilty to the six felony charges he's currently facing, which include conspiracy, false statements, and campaign law violations!

In a statement given outside a Federal Court in North Carolina, the presidential candidate said:

“There’s no question that I’ve done wrong and I take full responsibility for having done wrong. And I will regret for the rest of my life the pain and the harm that I have caused to others but I did not break the law and I have never, ever thought I was breaking the law.”

As of now, the judge set no bail for him, and Edwards was released on his own recognizance. He has to surrender his passport, and is restricted to traveling in just the states. He also must stay away from Bunny Mellon, the 100-year-old who allegedly gave him the big bucks to cover up his affair with Rielle Hunter.

As the indicment reads:

"Edwards knew that public revelation of the affair and pregnancy would destroy his candidacy by, among other things, undermining Edwards' presentation of himself as a family man and by forcing his campaign to divert personnel and resources away from other campaign activities to respond to criticism and media scrutiny.”

Unbelievable.

We think it's pretty clear that this man is capable of doing some pretty heinous, deplorable things, so forgive us if we're less than prone to believe that he is guiltless in this matter!

As we said before: whomp, whomp!

Actions have consequences…and he has some BIG ONES coming his way!
