It must be a sad day for Mariah Carey.

One of the few people invited to her secret wedding to Nick Cannon and her main bestie, rapper Da Brat, was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday.

Her offense???

Striking a woman with a rum bottle at an Atlanta-area nightclub.

Crazy!

Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, was also sentenced to seven years probation and 200 hours of community service.

About six members of Bratty Brat's family wept when a sheriff’s deputy took her into custody.

Da Brat told the family, “I love y’all,” as she was led out of the courtroom by authorities.

Her fam responded, “We love you, too,” in unison.

The report didn't mention any Mimi sightings in the courtroom.

What kind of a friend is that????

Here's an interesting theory behind the baby name!

Judging from their babies' names, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale must be huge Bob Marley fans! And probably big stoner too!

Their newest baby is named Zuma Nesta Rock.

'Nesta' is Bob Marely's middle name, too!

Gwen and Gavin's eldest son is named Kingston.

The capital of Bob Marley's native Jamaica is Kingston!

Unfortunately for Malaysia, the show will go on.

Despite attempts by many in Malaysia to shut down Avril Lavigne's "inappropriate" concert, it looks like the people will still suffer.

As for April, she has gotten a bigger head lately. And it's not like we even want to look at her face.

She says of the whole ordeal, "Well, I've actually been approved by the government to play a show. I've already sold 10,000 tickets there, so I will be going to put on a concert for the fans."

Yea, bitch can't lose those supposed 10,000 tickets sold. That's more ticket sales than she'd ever sell here!

Lavigne adds, "They tend to, you know, sometimes not want Western artists in their country. I respect that, but at the same time, you know, there's people that listen to music there and want to see their idols and stuff, so it's all good: been approved by the government and [I'm] going to go put on a show and have fun."

Since when is Lavigne an IDOL in Malaysia?

Several people in Malaysia, including its Islamic opposition party, have been trying to cancel or postpone the indecent show which is set to take place just two days before the celebration of their country's independence day.

If she does perform, April better keep it clean or she's likely to get fined by the government.

She should just stay in Malaysia while she's there!

According to a radio station in Florida, Johnny Depp will perform with his old band, The Kids, in two South Florida concerts on August 29th and 30th.

Gig location is reportedly Club Cinema in Pompano Beach.

Jermaine Dupri is getting some heat in his hometown of Atlanta!

His restaurant, Cafe Dupri, has gone bust and former employees are claiming that they either were not paid or that checks issued to them by Dupri's business people bounced.

It's also been claimed that the restaurant shut its doors and left its employees jobless without any notice!

If that's true, how cruel!

Dupri's momma managed the cafe on his behalf, and when contacted by reporters she lashed out and said a business is only as good as its employees. If the employees who were complaining worked harder, the restaurant might have done better.

Doesn't momma Dupri sound a little defensive?

The Dave Matthews Band's saxophonist LeRoi Moore has passed away.

He was 46 years young.

The musician was injured in an ATV accident in June, resulting in a punctured lung and broken ribs.

Moore went back into the hospital last month due to complications. He passed away Tuesday in Los Angeles after more complications.

Our condolences to LeRoi's family and bandmates.

On Tuesday, parole officials released the transcripts of John Lennon's killer Mark David Chapman's latest hearing.

Chapman reportedly told parole officials during his latest unsuccessful bid for release that he is ashamed and sorry for gunning down the former Beatle and that, over the years, he has come to realize the gravity of what he did, and how it affected not only Lennon, but his wife, children and anybody who knew him.

He says:

"I recognized that that 25-year-old man, I don't think he really appreciated the life that he was taking, that this was a human being. I feel now at 53 I have grown into a deeper understanding of what a human life is. I have changed a lot."

He also told the parole board that he was seeking notoriety and fame to counter feelings of failure when he decided to kill Lennon.

"I would be something other than a nobody, and that was my reasoning at the time."

Chapman has been in prison for nearly 28 years.

He was sentenced to 20 years to life after pleading guilty to the murder.

The parole board's denial means he will remain in New York's Attica Correctional Facility for at least two more years.

So, who's got the biggest dick???

According to Forbes….

In the last year alone, Jay-Z released a platinum album and signed a $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation for a 10 year contract.

But 50 Cent is laughing all the way to the bank!

After taxes, 50 Cent took in over $100 million when his stake in the high-calorie VitaminWater was bought by Coca-Cola.

In total, he made over $150 million in just 12 months. That's almost double what Jay-Z made last year.

Guess it helps that 50 is also involved with G-Unit clothing, video games, and films!

And, rappers today are starting to diversify more than ever before. It's not just about the music. It's about the music, the movies, clothing lines, endorsement deals. Etc. Etc.

Whatever gets them rich quicker!

After Jay-Z, coming in third on the top of the richest hip-hop artists for 2008 is Diddy - coming in third again for the second year in a row.

Diddy brought in $35 million from all his revenue streams, like his clothing line, record label, reality shows, and the vodka he doesn't like to promote, Ciroc.

And coming in fourth on the list is Kanye West who made $30 million.

Even the rappers who haven't worked in years are making millions just living off their royalties.

Like Dr. Dre who make $15 million last year. Even Tupac brought in about $15 million and he's been dead for over 10 years.

We need to drop our rap album ASAP!
