But new champ Miesha Tate is apparently trying to get her to sit up and take notice!
The MMA women's bantamweight belt-holder is set to defend her new title against Ronda later this year, and she's getting the trash talking started early!
We're not sure if the plan is to psych out the Furious 7 star or get her too angry to think straight, but her recent comments are DEFINITELY meant to sting!
First on Monday she told TMZ:
Guess Ronda Rousey had better things to do?
The MMA fighter wasn't that interested in watching Holly Holm — the one woman to defeat her — defend the Bantamweight title against Miesha Tate at UFC 196 on Saturday night!
That's because instead of watching the fight, Rousey decided she was going to do something a little more low key… like watch professional wrestling at an American Legion Hall in El Lay!
Rousey was spotted in the crowd in Reseda, California, taking in a night of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's All-Star Weekend 12 — but from what it sounds like, she WAS paying attention to the fight on her phone!
According to reports, right around the time that Tate was choking out Holm in the fifth round for a surprise victory, photos of Rousey checking her phone and smiling surfaced!!!
Ch-ch-check 'em out (below):
Good for you, Ronda Rousey!
The MMA superstar was out and about in El Lay on Monday when the paparazzi caught up with her, and just like the classy woman that she is, Rousey took time to answer some questions and talk candidly about some serious health issues.
Of course, the media wanted to know all about Rousey's recent comments on suicidal thoughts after losing to Holly Holm late last year.
The UFC star didn't hold back, addressing it openly and honestly:
This is so sweet!
After Ronda Rousey revealed earlier this week that she considered killing herself after losing to Holly Holm in an MMA bout last November, the fighter's boyfriend, Travis Browne, has come out with an amazing show of support!
Speaking to reporters, Browne — also a fighter himself — recounted how he helped Rousey get out of that dark mental place post-fight, and why it was a no-brainer for him to shower his partner with love during a very rough time:
Ronda Rousey always keeps it real.
Earlier in the day she shared a snap of her sitting on Jimmy Fallon's couch as an effort to thank her glam squad for her styling for the interview.
Hours later she realized the image had been altered to make her arms look smaller — and Miz Rousey was not having it!
The 29-year-old took to her page again with a side-by-side of the original and edited images to address the situation:
The UFC champion feels for her opponent.
The 34-year-old admitted after hearing her opponent's remarks, she wasn't sure how she should respond, explaining:
Ronda Rousey has remained pretty silent about her shocking UFC defeat to Holly Holm back in November, only making it clear that she wants to challenge the fighter once again to win her title back.
In the sit down, Rousey said how she really didn't remember most of the fight, because the first blow to the head messed her up way worse than she let on.
After Holm's match-ending kick left the fighter unconscious and hospitalized, the former bantamweight Champion said she reached an all-time low.
Breaking down, the 29-year-old admitted to thinking that she felt like she was "nothing" after her crushing loss, and had suicidal thoughts — but it was her boyfriend Travis Browne who gave her the strength she needed to get back up. She said:
