Is Kylie Jenner trying to make it official??
There's no way she wasn't sending him... and the world... a message!
On Thursday night, Rickey Smith, a season 2 American Idol alum, tragically lost his life at 36 years old after he was involved in a car crash on a highway outside of Oklahoma City.
Apparently, Smith was driving down the I-240 when Gerardo Cedra Jr., who was driving a 2003 GMC pickup traveling the wrong way, slammed into the singer's vehicle head-on. Once police arrived, they pronounced Rickey dead on the scene and TMZ reports that police booked Cedra for a DUI.
During his run on the singing competition show, Smith was most well-known for performing What the World Needs Now Is Love by Dionne Warwick and was compared to Brian McKnight for his vocal talent.
After learning about the news, both Studdard and Aiken took to Twitter to share:
You knew American Idol was going to go out with a bang! And it turns out, it's a gang bang!
Former contestants Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Ruben Studdard, Scotty McCreery, Josh Gracin, Lauren Alaina, Bucky Covington, Danny Gokey, and Clay Aiken, all took the stage to say goodbye!
Unfortunately, Kelly Clarkson couldn't be at the live event because she is about to give birth to her second child! However, she was able to do a taped segment (above) where she performed a medley of her classic hits!
Overall, the night celebrated Idol's legacy as one of the best competition shows in the history of television! It will truly be missed!

That's because in addition to the news that Kelly Clarkson, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson will be stopping by to say goodbye to iconic reality show, original co-host Brian Dunkleman and She Bangs singer William Hung will also be making farewell appearances!
