Dogs May Help Bald Men Regrow Their Hair

Filed under: Amazing > Dog > Science

A cure for baldness might be able to borrow from how dogs' winter coats come in.

The hair growth is triggered by hormones and signals coming from elsewhere in the body.

Those signals vary with the seasons.

A researcher said:

"The hair-follicle stem cell is not only listening to the voice in the stem cell, but also the voice from outside."

So instead of using stem cells, they may be able to alter the environment around the hair follicles that allows them to receive the outside signals.

"This extra follicle-affecting factor has disappeared during human evolution.

To deal with the hair growth, you not only try to help the stem cell, but you can improve the 'soil,' like - You put a tulip bulb in a nicer soil, you will grow a nicer hair."

So not only are dogs cute, but they could help bald men to get their hair back!

We love dogs!!

The World's Oldest Dog Has Died

Filed under: Crazzzzy > Dog > RIP > Sad Sad

pusuke-pet-cematary__oPt.jpg

So sad!

Pusuke, a 26-year-old male cross-breed was officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records about a year ago.

He died in his home with his owner just a few days ago.

He was born in March in 1985!!

So close to his 27th birthday.

That's well over 100 in dog years, so estimates would even put it around 185!!

He died only a few minutes after his owner returned home from a walk.

She said:

"I think [Pusuke] waited for me to come home."

Our thoughts and hearts go out to that woman and hope that the memories from her many years with Pusuke comfort her in this tough time.

R.I.P. - Pusuke

Airline Baggage Handler Loses Job For Reporting Animal Abuse

Filed under: Animal Cruelty > Dog > Health

dog-airport-lady-fired__oPt.jpg

This is ridiculous.

Lynn Jones was a baggage handler working at Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

One day, while on the job, she was to load a pet carrier with a dog inside.

The hunting dog was emaciated, with bloody paws and sores all over its body.

She said:

"The Transportation Safety Authority officers couldn't even get the dog to stand up to be X-rayed.

Everyone who saw it, the TSA people, the Airport Police officers, the girls at the ticket counter, was concerned. The dog was so weak and torn up. It didn't look like it could survive the flight."

So she did what any concerned animal lover would do and told her supervisor she couldn't load the dog on the plane.

Her manager (who is a real monster if this true) told her to load the dog anyway because all the paper work was in order and the animal's condition wasn't her concern.

She was told she'd lose her job if she kept carrying on about the dog.

She said:

"I was crying. I kept saying that dog could not be put on a plane."

After not complying she was fired on the spot.

"(My supervisor) kept yelling, 'That's it, you're done, you are out of here, go home.'

I left."

The airport police called animal services who took custody of the dog and provided it with veterinary care.

No information is available about the dog other than that the animal services who picked him up said he should pull through.

Now Jones is without a job. She said:

"I loved my job at the airport. Getting the bags to the right flights was challenging, the work is very physical and the people were great. I wouldn't have traded that job for anything. I wouldn't have risked it for anything.

But I just couldn't turn my back on that dog ... My supervisor said it wasn't my concern, but animal abuse is everyone's concern who sees it."

Way to go, Lynn Jones!

We need more people like you in the world.

Dog Saves Two Kittens Left To Die

Filed under: Amazing > Cat > Dog > Inspiration > Rescue

A dog was wandering near a road when he smelled something left by the road in a Meow Mix bag.

It was a litter of kittens. Most of which has been run over by a car!

So awful!

So the dog brought the bag home to his owner and whined until they opened it.

Inside, out of the five kittens, they found two still alive and in critical condition.

Check out the above video to see the two kittens that survived.
