Jenelle Evans MADE UP David Eason Dog Killing Story 'For Publicity', Say Police

Did Jenelle Evans lie about her dog?

Jenelle Evans made up the story about David Eason killing their dog for publicity, according to police!
Wait, what???
Initial reports hit May 1 claiming Eason, who has only gotten increasingly scarier with his ammunition stockpile and threats to government agents, shot and killed the family’s French bulldog, Nugget.

A source claiming to be close to the Teen Mom 2 star opened up to Us Weekly, saying her husband “killed [her] dog… because he snapped at… 2-year-old [daughter], Ensley.” The insider added he “just took her and shot her in the woods… about two acres away from the house.”
According to police, Jenelle called in and claimed David had shot the poor pup.
Almost immediately David himself basically bragged about it in a defensive Instagram post, saying he was defending his family.
However, on Thursday, North Carolina police released a statement saying they closed their investigation into the case due to lack of evidence. Additionally, they believe Jenelle fabricated the entire incident for attention!
WHUT??
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office in Whiteville, North Carolina said:

“[Jenelle] contacted Columbus County Sheriff’s Office by public service. [She] advised that on April 29th, at approximately 6:30 pm, her dog bit her daughter, leaving a scratch on her face… [She] advised that her husband, David Eason, threw the dog outside. She then advised that after David realized that the dog scratched their child, he went outside and shot the dog. During this conversation, Jenelle stated that she did hear a gunshot but did not witness the incident.”

However, after conducting a search of the couple’s property on May 13 with Eason’s authorization, authorities found no blood evidence or any other physical evidence to validate that an animal had been fatally injured.
The next day, the 27-year-old was questioned about her initial statement. Per reports:

“Jenelle’s accounts were inconsistent with her original account of the events that occurred on April 29…
Jenelle advised that she was inside with her children at the time of the alleged event.  She advised that she never heard or saw anything to indicate that David shot her dog. Jenelle advised that she did not want the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office or the District Attorney’s Office to continue with the investigation.”

Authorities seemed to take Jenelle at her word that David didn’t threaten her into clearing his name either:

“Jenelle advised that this was her decision that she made on her own free will. She advised that she was not coerced into making this decision…”

Well… that kind of seems obvious, right?
Of course Jenelle didn’t want authorities investigating her husband. By that time she had gone back to the house — and clearly had no plans to leave him. So she obviously wouldn’t want him going to prison for animal cruelty.
Not to mention if he turned out to be a dog killer they probably would have had a harder time regaining custody of their kids.
The report continues:

“Jenelle advised that ‘she don’t know where the dog is’… She also advised that ‘I don’t know if she was shot or killed or not.’ Jenelle stated that the reason she filed the animal cruelty report was for the publicity and because she did not know where her dog was.”

What?? What sense does that even make?
They say there’s no such thing as bad press, but how about the kind that gets your children taken away?
After the alleged incident, Jenelle was fired from her hit reality franchise, and the couple temporarily lost custody of Ensley, Jenelle’s 5-year-old son Kaiser, and David’s 11-year-old daughter Maryssa.
How did that benefit her??
Is it just us, or does it seem just as likely Jenelle is lying now to protect David and their precarious parental situation??
Hmm…
Officials continued:

“Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators located no physical evidence to substantiate that the allegations against David Eason are factual… The evidence collected indicates that the allegations of animal cruelty were fabricated. Therefore, Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is closing this investigation. No charges will be filed in this case.”

Authorities also closed an investigation regarding an envelope containing a white powder sent to Jenelle and David on May 15. Ultimately, the substance was tested and deemed harmless.
Additionally, they wanted to note for concerned fans that “the quantity of calls and emails” that officials received about Evans’ dog situation was “so abundant that individuals had to be removed from their normal duties to answer thousands of redundant calls,” which “slowed the progress of the investigation, and delayed normal daily operations.”
They stated:

“Social media can be a great tool when utilized for positive interactions… in this case, social media posts were utilized to incite follower’s emotions to gain publicity.”

OK, message received, geez!
But seriously, is anyone buying that the entire thing was made up?
And are the type of people who would invent such a hoax safe to raise young children??
