Everyone has their favorite guilty pleasure when it comes to fast food, but a San Clement, Calif.-based market research firm has carried out the largest survey to date in an effort to determine the best of the best (with over 500 locations).

After surverying more than 107,400 limited-service restaurant users in 87 U.S. media markets, Sandelman & Associates determined this top ten list based on the highest percentage of "excellent" ratings given by customers who ate there in the last three months. Bossman of the market research company, Bob Sandelman, explained:

“These Top 10 chains offer high-quality fresh food, served in comfortable and inviting surroundings. Several of the fast-food giants have responded with better food and better spaces.”

Is Taco Bell responsible for 68 people in 10 states contracting salmonella last fall?

Food Safety News seems to think so because a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report described the culprit as "Mexican-style fast food chain restaurant." They aren't releasing any names though and refer to the eatery responsible for the outbreak as "Restaurant A."

After some careful investigation into the matter, sources narrowed down the possible perpetrators by location as

You won't find a burrito at Chipotle's much buzzed about Asian spin-off restaurant, ShopHouse Kitchen.

Sources have confirmed that the Southeast Asian inspired fast food joint will feature noodles and rice, topped with meat, vegetables and/or Asian condiments like nuts and sauces inspired by food found in Thailand, Malaysia, and China.

You may find a similar decor though. If you're comfortable around simple, stainless steel designs and ordering behind a counter, the ShopHouse Kitchen may replace your weekly trip to Panda Express. If, of course, the chain goes national.

So far only one location in Washington DC has opened, but has been met with generally positive reviews, like this one:

"My thoughts: good food, small portions. I had a bowl with rice noodles, tofu, Chinese broccoli, and tamarind sauce. The food was nicely spicy (good for me, but definitely too spicy for some friends of mine). Everything was fresh and flavorful and the stand out to me was the Chinese broccoli. The staff was friendly and the kitchen was bopping. Steve Ells (founder of Chipotle) was even there to say hi at the end of the counter! My only complaint: I left kinda hungry. For a similar price I can go get more food at any of the other Asian fusion places nearby."

The same thing could have been said for Chipotle when it first opened, so we imagine it's only a matter of time before they start popping up in every major city.

Chipotle’s in trouble!

They are running low on natural chicken — specifically in Southern California.

This is a problem for Chipotle because they pride themselves on serving only all-natural chicken.

A spokesman for Chipotle said that there was a “disruption” in the supply chain, but no other explanation has been given as to why there’s a shortage.

Hopefully Chipotle sticks to its promise of only serving natural chicken! It may lose a little money in the short run, but it will earn our respect in the long run!

We must admit that as over-sized as Chipotle’s burritos are, they’re delicious. That’s why we’re excited about their new Asian restaurant concept!

Said Chipotle found Steve Ells:

“Chipotle is not successful because we serve burritos and tacos. Our success comes from finding the very best sustainably raised ingredients, prepared and cooked using classical methods in front of the customer, and served in an interactive format by special people dedicated to providing a great dining experience. And while our Chipotle restaurants will, of course, remain our primary focus, we are also excited to see how this format works with other cuisines.”

We can’t wait to try the new restaurant!
