This is a tough one.

Kalyn Chapman James, the first black Miss Alabama in the state's history, has been suspended from her TV hosting gig after calling the man who shot and killed five Dallas police officers last week a "martyr".

James, who's a host on south Florida PBS station WPBT, posted a video to Facebook on Sunday, opening up her emotions to the world and trying to make sense of all the terrible violence we've seen of late in America.

The video is raw, honest, and nuanced, but it's also highly controversial, because in the span of two minutes, James goes from grappling with a tough period of violence, to essentially excusing Micah Xavier Johnson's horrific shooting spree.

Watch James, who was named Miss Alabama in 1993 and finished in the top 10 of 1994's Miss America competition, let it all hang out in the video (below):

Donald Trump Finally Responds To Nationwide Violence With The Most Politic Statement He's Ever Made…

Donald Trump isn't shy about speaking his mind… that is, until an actual tragedy comes up and he has no clue how to respond to real, tangible, significant societal upheaval.

The GOP presidential candidate has not been scared to demonize all kinds of minority groups in his weird path through the presidential primaries over the last year. He's even taken on national tragedies as a way to talk about his favorite subject — himself — as he finds solace in congratulating himself while the rest of the world grieves.

But all of a sudden, the presumptive Republican nominee for President has gotten awfully quiet amid scary acts of violence the last several days across the country, culminating in a rash of sniper attacks against police officers in Dallas last night.

This morning, The Donald tweeted maybe the last thing you'd ever expect of him (below):

Former Illinois Congressman Deletes Possibly Treasonous Tweet Calling For 'War' Against President Obama & 'Black Lives Matter Punks'

Just when you thought Mischa Barton's reaction to tragedy was the most awful response this week, along comes Joe Walsh.

Walsh, a Tea Party conservative and former Illinois Congressman who now hosts a syndicated talk radio show, tweeted a horrifying — and potentially illegal — message to Barack Obama after last night's tragic sniper shootings in Dallas.

As news kept flooding in that more police officers were hit, wounded, or dead throughout the night on Thursday, Walsh took to Twitter and posted an extremely ill-advised message to the President that was very quickly deleted thereafter (below):

Mischa Barton Apologizes For Her Tasteless Police Brutality Bikini Post

This doesn't make her initial post any better, but at least she owned up to it…

Mischa Barton has been getting the worst kind of attention this week after she posted a tasteless, tacky photo showing her "solidarity" with those killed by police officers in light of the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

Barton, as you remember, posted a message about two black men being gunned down by police officers in suspicious circumstances accompanied by a photo of herself in a bikini while aboard a yacht, pretty much proving her out-of-touch attitude and defining privilege.

Barton immediately deleted that initial post, but the Internet always finds a way to remember — and the wrath of social media came down hard on her almost immediately for her out-of-touch message.

Thankfully, now she's proving to be receptive and sensitive, publicly apologizing for the post and her actions in regards to the two shootings.

Very early Friday morning, Barton posted a string of messages to her Twitter account (below) about the Sterling and Castile tragedies, as well as her response to criticism:

This week has been an extremely difficult one as there have been a couple police shootings that left two different black men dead. On top of that, a protest turned deadly on Thursday night when snipers in Dallas shot and killed five police officers.

As you can imagine, there have been quite a few reactions from the celebrity world, whether they're taking to Twitter to pay tribute to the deceased, or write powerful letters, or even stop their concert to honor those we lost!

One person we REALLY wish would have kept her opinion to herself is Justin Bieber's mom Pattie Mallette who simply tweeted:
