Look out Ryan Lochte, Oscar de la Renta is coming for you!
While accepting the Couture Council’s Award for Artistry earlier this week, the designer took the opportunity to slam celebrity "designers".
Oscar quipped:
"Today, if you play tennis, you can be a really good designer. Or, if you’re an actress, you can be a designer. I’ve been at it for 45 years and I’m still learning my craft on a daily basis."
We definitely sympathize, and like a fine wine, his designs have only gotten better with age, and apparently knowledge too! Ha!
Thoughts???

Running away from the runway is something we never thought would happen!
Less than a week after filming started, two contestants have already packed up and said 'Auf Wiedersehen' to Project Runway!
On Friday, a male designer "had an episode" at Parsons, which was so bad they had to bring in a psychologist to talk to him.
Yikes!
An on-set source said the designer was "too nervous"

There's no evading this order!
Prosecutors will finally get their day in court with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana after a judge in Milan gave the go ahead to try the designers for not declaring taxes on over $1.25 BILLION in revenue.
As we mentioned last year, a judge cleared the duo of all charges in April, but was ultimately overturned in November after prosecutors appealed the decision.
So far there's no date set for a trial, but after Stefano's innocent tweet on Friday, it sounds like settling out of court isn't going to be an option.
Buona fortuna, ragazzi!

Christian Louboutin's been dealt another legal blow is his crusade against any and everyone producing red soled shoes!
Back in 2008 the French cobbler sued Zara France for counterfeiting and unfair competition over an open-toed shoe that looked identical to his YoYo heel.
After the court ruled in favor of Louboutin, Zara filed their own appeal, which resulted in the original decision being overturned in June of 2011 because "the terms of Louboutin’s trademark registration were too vague, noting for instance that it did not contain a Pantone color reference for the red soles".
Oops. That's why they pay lawyers the big bucks, right?
Last week the 4 year legal battle came to an end in France's final court of appeal, which upheld the 2011 ruling in favor of Zara. The court determined there was no legal or procedural error in the case and ordered Louboutin to pay Zara $3,600 as compensation.
We can only imagine the massive grins the folks at Yves Saint Laurent have across their faces right now!

Oh snap! The slap bracelet is back!
Remember the glorious 90s when your go-to accessory was a cheap piece of plastic that could also be used as a playground weapon? Yeah, those once tacky accessories are back, only now they're made of leather and have embossed snake prints and giant jewels.
So, this time around they're AWEsome!
The label BruceGlen has made these practical cuffs fashionable. No more cheap plastics, just quality materials. They're easily as stylish as any other cuff you'll find and starting at $30, they're pretty affordable too!
Oh, did we mention the best part? The bracelets are unisex!
Check out their site and see the different cuffs.
What do U think of these nostalgic accessories??

Seems like Kelly Cutrone and Vogue's HBIC contributing editor André Leon Talley are playing musical chairs.
First ALT leaves ANTM and is replaced by Kelly. Now, ALT is heading over to Kelly's old stomping grounds at Bravo!
The network just announced ALT's return to reality television, for a new series tentatively titled Fashion Stories of NYC.
Fashion Stories will follow four up-and-coming design teams as they create, show and sell a collection (mixed in with a heavy dose of drama), all under the tutelage of the fabulous fashion icon.
Totally front row status!!!
We're excited and can't wait to tune in, what about U???
