HOW DARE!
Wednesday was time for an annual ritual, the day when the diamondback terrapins that live near JFK airport force one of the runways to close while they crawl across it to go lay their eggs.
Flights ended up only being delayed an hour and the 100 turtles were moved to a nice sandy spot so they can lay their eggs, so everything turned out fine.
Some people seem to think it's an unnecessary problem, but we say they were here first, we can give them an hour to procreate.
It may even remind NYCsters that we are all part of a bigger thing - and not every second needs to be spent advancing your career or social status!!!
Now if you'll excuse us, we have a conference call with the Kardashians.

It Was Fun While It Lasted @BronxZooPeacock!
The Bronx Zoo's second escaping animal of the year has been put back in her habitat.
Zoo Director Jim Breheny said she was found Wednesday morning in the garage of a local business and safely corralled.
Breheny said the peahen, a female version of a peacock, has been examined by veterinarians and seems to be fine.
Glad to hear she's healthy, but - quick question Jim, are there zoo keepers at your zoo?!
Keeping up with the missing Bronx Zoo cobra and peahen's in the news and on twitter has been entertaining, but it kinda seems like escaping from your zoo is about as easy taking a stroll… in a zoo.

D'arcy Wretzky, former bassist for the rock band Smashing Pumpkins, is behind bars in Michigan thanks to her horses.
In 2009 several of her horses broke free from their enclosure and angered neighbors after they ran amok in the town.
D'arcy was fined for "Animals Running at Large" by the local law enforcement, but never paid and missed four consecutive court dates!
We take back what we said earlier. She's not in jail thanks to her horses, but rather her apparent amnesia!
Who misses FOUR court dates?
Now she's facing the music and is in custody until Valentine's Day!
Tough love.
