What an unnecessary tragedy.
Hoverboards may be the biggest fad currently overtaking America, but as you can probably tell just by looking at them, they're incredibly dangerous.
But falling off the motorized scooters is no longer the biggest cause of harm from the tech… because there's now at least one case of a hoverboard accident turning deadly.
An 18-year-old in Orlando, Florida was riding his hoverboard while holding a loaded gun on Sunday when he lost his balance and accidentally fired the weapon, hitting his 13-year-old cousin in the back of the head.
Lavardo Fisher was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on Monday night.
While his older cousin was not charged for the death since it was an accident, the gun owner, 35-year-old Walter Morame, who was not home at the time, has since been arrested for possession of a weapon by a felon.
Our thoughts are with Lavardo's friends and family at this difficult time.
Stay safe, everyone!
