Google & Adidas Bring You The Talking Shoe!

These shoes are made for talking and that's just what they'll do.

Google and Adidas have teamed up to create a talking sneaker.

Yay?

The kicks come with 250 programmed sayings that will blare out of the built-in speaker, and the best part is that it speaks in a British accent because everyone knows sneakers hail from the UK, right?

So not only will it motivate you on your run, or tell you how boring you are, but the Bluetooth connection will also let you connect to Facebook or Google+.

Craziness!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to see the awesomeness!

Prabal Gurung Did Not Die In Car Accident!

prabal-gurung-is-not-dead.jpg

Google doesn't always tell the truth.

Yesterday, stories circulated via Google Alerts that Prabal Gurung passed after being involved in a car accident, but those tales are false!

Hours after the phony news hit the search engine, Prabal took to his Facebook to inform his fans and friends he was "safe and sound."

The fashion designer expressed that he is "disturbed" with the bogus information that hit the internet:

"I wish the parties involved in this hoax had some empathy for those who are at the receiving end of this prank. I hope that Google looks into this and takes firm action.”

This is cray!

Reporting that someone died is not cool, especially when it's not even true.

Shame on you Google!

Tory Burch Teams Up With The Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson's Awareness Month!

tory-burch-michael-j-fox-foundation-orange-items.jpg

What do you get when you mix fashion, Tory Burch and the Michael J. Fox Foundation?

An amazing opportunity to help raise funds for Parkinson's research, that's what!

For the month of April, the designer has pledged to donate 20% of sales from select orange items to the actor's foundation. Those items include the Robinson Chain Mini Bag ($365), Simone Cardigan ($225), Robinson Coin Case ($95) and the Aaden Flats ($250).

Tory said was more than happy to help out such a worthy cause:

“It’s an honor to partner with the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Michael’s optimism and determination are truly an inspiration, and we are thrilled to help in our own small way.”

Michael jokingly added:

“It doesn’t hurt that we both love orange”

And so do we!

As if that wasn’t enough incentive to purchase, Google's co-founder Sergey Brin and his wife Anne Wojcicki will match every dollar raised by the sale until the end of the year.

Wow!

All of the items mention can be purchased at toryburch.com or the Madison Avenue store in New York City.

Don't be surprised if you see a lot of people dressed as Nicki Minaj this weekend because according to Google she's the most searched Halloween costume.

Unfortunately for those wanting to buy a pre-made Minaj costume, you're going to be S.O.L. because there aren't any. Instead, you're going to have to use your imagination and do it DIY-style.

Check out the gallery (below) for some inspiration!

Groupon Is Growing Faster Than Google Did

groupon-logo-profits.jpg

Groupon is growing and growing fast!

In fact, its first-quarter revenue was up by 1,475% from last year to $645 million.

This marks a faster growth than other giants like Google, eBay and Amazon experienced.

Just to compare, Google’s revenue rose "only" 352% in its second year while eBay and Amazon’s rose a bit over 700%. That’s almost twice the growth for Groupon!

A rep for Wedbush’s "Second Internet" research unit, reveals:

"Groupon and the rest of the industry have grown so rapidly because, for the first time in history, merchants can leverage the Internet in scale. The deal commerce space is going to be massive."

But all isn’t too rosy for Groupon, as they reported in their S-1 filing last week a $450 million loss.

So although they are doing well, other competitors like LivingSocial, which is backed by Amazon and Facebook still pose a threat.

Are U a Groupon user?

Google Gets Fashionable

google-launching-new-fashion-focused-site-boutiques-dot-com.jpg

On Wednesday, Google will be making it's move into the fashion world by launching a new e-commerce site.

According to insiders, Boutiques.com is said to feature "virtual boutiques" that will make online shopping easier by telling the shopper where they can purchase it online.

Google has already landed Sarah Jessica Parker as their first A-lister to set up her own shop. If we had to guess it'll probably be all Halston stuff.

They've also invited Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, Cynthia Rowley, Marchesa and Isaac Mizrahi to hop on the boutiques.com bandwagon, but none have been confirmed.

Sounds like a good idea and a great way to get new business.

We can't wait to try it out, can U???

YouTube Founder Trades Videos For Fashion

youtube-founder-chad-hurley-leaves-company-for-fashion.jpg

This is kinda random.

Founder and CEO of YouTube Chad Hurley, is leaving his company to work full time on his and business partner Anthony Mazzei's menswear line Hlaska.

The 33 year old explained his decision to Forbes:

"If something excites you, go for it. Anthony and I also don't believe that for Hlaska to exist we need to be as "dialed-in" as others believe. We make stuff we want to use. We make wallets, bags and shirts we'd want to see sold in stores. In that sense it's exactly like YouTube. We wanted something that wasn't available, so we built it ourselves."

Inneresting.

Luckily for Chad if this little business venture doesn't pan out he can always fall back on that $1.65 billion he made from selling YouTube to Google 4 years ago.
