Although pets don't often show it - a lot of pets can and do feel pain.
Which was definitely the case for veterinarian Dr. Doug Kramer after his precious pet dog was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Wanting to make sure the dog lived the rest of its life happy - Kramer decided to give the dog medical marijuana which is legal in the state of California.
And although people may frown upon using medical marijuana on a pet dog, PETA actually is for using marijuana upon one's own pets as long as it for medicinal purposes.

This just seems like blatant animal cruelty!!
But actually, it's more complicated than that.
Some pet owners give their pets medical marijuana, and not in a hold them down and blow smoke in their face like an evil high school stoner way.
Their animals have bad arthritis or cancer and they give them medicated snacks to help alleviate the problems.
There is even a vet (in California of course) that believes it can be okay to get a pet high!

If you've ever wondered what it takes to get a dog high, you're not thinking of your pooch's health!
Unlike humans, dogs suffer from toxicity in their nervous system when it comes to marijuana.
While effects from Mary Jane can be observed from second hand smoke, eating marijuana is especially dangerous for your pup.
Some symptoms include:
stumbling
inability to walk
twitching
dribbling urine
agitation
depression
coma (not as common)
seizures
dilation of pupils
diarrhea
drooling
vomiting
death (not as common)
Yikes!
If you feel that your dog may have gotten into the bad stuff, contact your veterinarian ASAP! Vets will try to expunge the toxins from the bloodstream.
Owners should do everything in their power to avoid their four legged friend's exposure to marijuana!

US Border Patrol Agents are now using horses to fight drug smugglers!
Crazy!
Even off-loading pick-up trucks and ATVs have trouble with some of the rocky terrain around the US/Mexico border.
So they enlisted the help of wild mustangs.
The horses know the territory and trust each other, so they can easily be used to chase down drug smugglers vehicles.
Since July, the horses have been credited with seizing a record 930,000 pounds of marijuana and arresting over 350 suspects.
Many of the horses were rescued from slaughter houses and trained by prison inmates to be effective drug hunters.
It's so great to know that these horses are rescued and given a job where they get to run around the open terrain with one another.

OMG! This is ridiculous!
Colombian Police officials have arrested a pigeon after being caught trying to fly over the wall of Bucaramanga prison with 1.6 ounces of marijuana strapped to its back.
A police commander called it "a new case of criminal ingenuity."
We wouldn't call it new since Pigeons have been used to transport messages for over 2000 years, but rather, retro.
We hope to hear about criminals leaving a giant Trojan horse outside the walls of the prison, only to be filled to the brim with illegal drugs, next.
