tyler the creator talks about his controversial mountain dew ad

Tyler the Creator came under some serious fire recently after an ad campaign he created for Mountain Dew was viewed as racist and sexist by critics. Well now the controversial rapper is speaking out about the commercial and says the whole thing was blown WAY out of proportion!

Most notably, Syracuse University Professor Boyce Watkins called it "arguably the most racist commercial in history." But Tyler just does't understand where he's getting that idea, saying:

Tyler The Creator's Ad Campaign For Mountain Dew Is Stirring Up Some Serious Controversy!

At this point, Tyler the Creator's name has essentially become synonymous with controversy.

The foul-mouthed rapper and his buddies from Odd Future have teamed up to put together an ad campaign for Mountain Dew, and the commercials are already being deemed both racist and sexist.

For some reason, we're not surprised considering both of those subjects seem to be common themes in his music.

The ads come in three parts, the first of which shows a goat beating on a female waitress after a Mountain Dew-enduced frenzy. But the clip that's drawing all of the criticism is the bizarre conclusion which shows the bruised and battered woman attempting to pick the culprit out of a police line-up.

The other suspects (who are played by Odd Future members) are all black, and while the attacker is an animal, he spits

42's Racist Portrayal Of Pitcher Fritz Ostermueller Has Family Enraged!

fritz ostermueller(1)

We had a feeling this movie was gonna stir up some type of DRAMz!

Fritz Ostermueller's daughter, Sherrill is furious over how her dad was portrayed in the flick, 42, and cannot believe that producers would represent her pops as a racist when he really wasn't one.

During a very relevant scene in the film, the MLB pitcher threw a ball at Jackie Robinson's head, and shouted at him, "You don't belong here!!!," and considering that in real life, the ball apparently hit Robinson's arm, we can see why Sherrill is MAD!!

Vogue Netherlands Honors Marc Jacobs With Blackface

vogue netherlands may 2013 marc jacobs spread blackface 1 vogue netherlands marc jacobs blackface spread

Okay, really? This is really still happening???

Apparently Vogue Netherlands missed the multiple memos that blackface is never okay, because they are the latest guilty party.

The publication ran a spread in their May issue honoring Marc Jacobs and in a poor attempt to pay homage to his 2008-2009 muses Grace Jones and Josephine Baker they painted model Querelle Jansen's face black.

This is just wrong.

Wouldn't it have just been easier to hire an African American model?

Apparently not.

Thoughts???

Mango Is Sort Of Sorry For Glamorizing Slavery

mango apologizes for slavery jewelry

This could be the worst apology we’ve heard since Gap's racist tee fiasco!

Spanish clothier Mango recently came under fire for a necklace and bracelet set that was named “estilo esclavo,” which means “slave style” in English.

Two French actresses, Aissa Maiga and Sonia Rolland, brought attention to the issue by starting a “Slavery is not Fashion” petition, which garnered 1,604 signatures AND an apology from the company that stated:

Numero Is Back To Their Blackface Ways!

Filed under: Fashion SmashionModelsSad SadSpread 'Em

numero model used blackface in african queen spread 1(2)

Srsly, what is their deal?!

Numero magazine has already been accused of using blackface once before, but they clearly didn’t learn their lesson!

In their current issue, Ondria Hardin, a white, 16-year-old model posed for Numero’s African Queen spread, with her skin painted black.

There is no need for this with all of the gorgeous black models out there.

They could have even found a woman who was actually African if they felt like looking!

Such a shame! Hopefully it doesn’t happen again!

Thoughts???

Seth MacFarlane's Obscenely Offensive Oscars Jokes! Relive His Questionable Quips HERE!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooOops!Silly!OscarsSeth MacFarlane

It's an intimidating feat to play host to the BIGGEST event in Hollywood, so we understand that Seth MacFarlane was nervous…

But his nerves are no excuse for some of the tactless jokes he was telling during last night's Oscars!

Seth's painfully long, self-obsessed monologue (above) was solely about him worrying about being a bad host — a self fulfilling prophecy, perhaps? — and included an entire song about seeing boobs, which Seth concluded with a "no-homo" joke.

The rest of the night consisted of one inappropriate joke after the other.

HOWEVER, we will say this: anyone who has ever seen Family Guy, American Dad, or The Cleveland Show knows that Seth stayed true to the comedic format that's made him famous.

All of his popular cartoons feature MAJORLY offensive jokes, and while some gags can go too far, the whole point of the shows (to us at least) is to poke fun at people and push the comfort zone of viewers.

But obviously, that type of comedy did NOT work for the Oscars.

We also find it rather funny that the Academy even asked Seth to host — have they seen Family Guy? He's been SO nasty to almost every celeb in that audience!
