Sushi Restaurant Introduces World's First Flying Waiter!!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueFood

THIS IS SO FREAKING COOL!!!

YO! Sushi in London gained a bit of a reputation when they became the first restaurant in the UK to use a conveyer belt system to deliver their food to patrons, but now that basically EVERYONE is doing that, they decided to shake things up a little bit!

The trendy eatery will now be FLYING their food directly to the consumer's table with the brand new "iTray," the world's very first flying waiter!!

Ch-ch-check out the awesome new gadget (above)!

The futuristic gizmo is essentially a customized RC quadcopter, with a tray placed on top that is controlled with an iPad!

The iTray is piloted by the waiters themselves so their jobs aren't in jeopardy just yet, but we're guessing they'll have to spend a little extra time learning to maneuver the amazing little things!

What do U think?? Is this the future of dining??

Jonathan Cheban, Kim Kardashian's best friend, just opened up a brand new restaurant in Miami!

It's called Sushi Mikasa Miami and it's in the Shelborne Hotel.

The restaurant is a very high end sushi place, whose chef is from the famous Sushi Seki in New York. Sounds FAB!

Kim, Scott Disick and Jonathan were hanging out at the restaurant, eating some ahmayzing food while filming for the upcoming season of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.

They weren't the only stars there either…

Sake Is Rising!

Ty Ku sake pic

If asked, the common man would probably say they like sake. If asked specifically for a TYPE of sake, they'd probably say whatever they serve at their favorite sushi joint.

Thanks to Ty Ku Premium Sake & Spirits, that's all about to change. The brand is catching national attention and was most recently profiled in The Atlantic, which calls the taste "delicate and full of flavor."

Although the company is based in New York, the liqueur is produced in Japan with the help of two small sake breweries, so the taste is authentic. And unlike most sake, it doesn't need to be heated to go down smooth.

With three distinct flavors, there is something here for everyone to enjoy. Here is what New York Times editor Clay Risen had to say about them:

"The silver has pear notes and a slight citrus acidity on the tongue. The black is richer, with peach and vanilla in the nose and less citrus on the tongue. The white, easily the best sake I've ever had (though, disclaimer: that's not saying much), was packed with flavors, including mushrooms, bubble gum, pepper, and licorice. Some say it, too, has some citrus, in the form of grapefruit and lemon, but I didn't detect it."

On top of great taste, this stuff is made out of only four natural ingredients — rice, water, yeast & koji — while being low in calories with only 55 per glass!

Would U give this stuff a shot outside of your favorite sushi restaurant (if you're of age, of course)?

TY KU Taking Beverage Industry By Storm

TY KU BIN

We weren't lying when we recommended this!

Beverage Industry News is also raving about the low-cal and wonderfully tasting alcoholic beverage taking consumers by storm — TY KU premium sake.

The publication compares the sake beverage category to how we once perceived tequila, in a sense that Americans aren't quite familiar with it yet. Thanks to TY KU, they soon will be.

In fact, BIN believes "the super premium sake line is poised to take over the category."

On top of TY KU's line being 100% all natural while simultaneously completely free of gluten, sulfites and tannins, the brand's director of marketing says:

"TY KU is rapidly becoming that trusted, called upon name in the sake space. Even if you did find one sake you liked, the challenge is how to find it again and how to pronounce it. With TY KU the two syllables makes it easy and people can remember it. Along with the modern packaging and marketing there are also elements of Asian cool paired wellness.”

Sake is no longer just for sushi restaurants and is being featured on restaurant menus like Morton’s, Carrabba’s, and Melting Pot!

The article makes mention that TY KU is actually the first sake to transition into popular culture thanks to rapper Chiddy Bang's hit single Mind Your Manners.

They even give Perez Hilton a shout out because of his ability to recognize a good thing when he tastes it, writing:

"Perez Hilton, the #1 web celebrity, often blogs about his affinity to naturally low calorie TY KU Sake."

It's the perfect drink for anyone trying to diet without giving up a fun night out!

Beyond that, it's refreshingly different! Sure beats a generic rum and coke!
