After over a year of searching, Jakadrien‘s family finally found the missing teen in a pretty unexpected place: a Colombian prison!
How did a pregnant 14-year-old African American girl who spoke ZERO Spanish get accidentally deported to South America??
Our source says that:
“Jakadrien somehow ended up in Houston, where she was arrested by Houston police for theft. She gave Houston police a fake name. When police in Houston ran that name, it belonged to a 22-year-old illegal immigrant from Colombia, who had warrants for her arrest.”
That’s when she was handed over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office.
Even thought ICE couldn’t confirm her identify they went ahead and just deported her of Columbia. (Cause being careful is SO overrated.)
Jakadrien was found the same way you track down any American teen: facebook. Jakadrien’s grandma found her bitching about her new job on her status updates. Her granny says:
“She [Jakadrien] talked about how they had her working in this big house cleaning all day, and how tired she was.”
U.S. Federal authorities got an address. U.S. Embassy officials in Colombia asked police to pick her up. But that was a month ago, and the Colombian government now has her in a detention facility and won’t release her, despite her family’s request.
Poor girl!!
This whole thing is terrifying, but with all the press this story has received we’re sure the US will do EVERYTHING they can to ensure Jakadrien’s safe return.
