21 Savage Will 'Fight' To Stay In U.S. After ICE Arrest!

21-savage

21 Savage isn’t giving up without a “fight.”
On Sunday, the rapper — who was reportedly born on the island of Dominica, a British colony — was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials for allegedly overstaying his visa, and is reportedly being prepared for “possible removal from the U.S.”

While the musician — born Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph — remains in custody, his lawyer, Charles H. Kluck, released a statement on Monday regarding his client’s situation.
Kluck said 21’s arrest is “based upon incorrect information about prior criminal charges and [ICE is] now refusing to release him on bond of any amount, despite the fact that he has a pending U-Visa application (as the victim of crime) with USCIS, and that he has relief from removal available to him.”
According to his legal representation, the artist “has never hid his immigration status from the US government,” adding:

“The Department of Homeland Security has known his address and his history since his filing for the U-Visa in 2017, yet they took no action against him until this past weekend.”

Additionally, Kluck confirmed his client has yet to be charged with any crimes.

“This is a civil law violation, and the continued detention of Mr. Abraham-Joseph serves no other purpose than to unnecessarily punish him and try to intimidate him into giving up his right to fight to remain in the United States.”

Overall, 21 will “fight” to stay in America —  for him and his “US citizen children.”

“Mr. Abraham-Joseph has US citizen children that he supports and is eligible for relief from deportation. We and he will fight for his release, for his family, and his right to remain in our country.  No one would expect less from him.”

As we reported, Demi Lovato received heat for sharing a meme on social media about how no one knew the 26-year-old was British.
