90 Day Fiancé Star Chuck Potthast's Tragic Cause Of Death Revealed

We now know what happened to “Elizabeth’s dad.”

As you may know, Chuck Potthast, who became a fan favorite on 90 Day Fiancé during his daughter Elizabeth Castravet’s journey to marry her long-distance lover Andrei Castravet, passed away at 64 last year. Elizabeth announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram in November, saying her family was completely shattered after his death. While she has not revealed how he died, TMZ is finally giving us an answer.

According to documents from the Hillsborough County, Florida Medical Examiner and obtained by the outlet on Friday, Chuck’s cause of death is listed as blunt impact injuries to the face and neck, including facial lacerations and a fractured C6 vertebra, after falling in the bathtub. The report also noted positional asphyxia as a factor.

What’s more, the medical examiner listed chronic alcohol use, liver cirrhosis, and acute alcohol intoxication as contributing causes. So, Chuck had a significant amount of alcohol in his system before the fall.
