Can you believe at one point, The Devil Wears Prada star actually stopped talking!?
Emily Blunt revealed to The Daily Beast that at age 10 she began suffering from a debilitating stutter that by the age of 12 had forced her to stop talking!
In high school, a teacher offered her a spot in the school play which she initially refused but later accepted and required her to use a Northern British accent.
Blunt credits the role as being “somehow liberating. I wouldn├óΓé¼Γäót say that I ceased to stutter after that, that it was some huge revelation. But for the first time in five years I was able to speak fluently├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and in front of 200 people.”
This week, the actress was an emcee for the Freeing Voices Changing Lives gala to benefit the American Institute for stuttering.
