The Voice Contestant Ryan Whyte Maloney Dead At 44

Ryan Whyte Maloney has sadly died.

On Tuesday, TMZ confirmed the 44-year-old famous for his appearance on season six of The Voice has passed away in Nevada. According to Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner, the former NBC show contestant’s cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the head. It was self-inflicted. The manner was ruled death by suicide.

According to his followers, the night before he died he posted an Instagram Story of him in a bar, in which he said:

“Nine fine Irishmen for a private party tonight, and we will be rocking.”

How did he get from partying to… that? So, so sad…

You may remember Ryan from the 2014 season of The Voice, where he was on host Blake Shelton‘s team and was even a top 5 finalist. He gave a jaw-dropping performance of Journey‘s Lights in his audition, which you can watch (below):
