Simone Biles knows the world is curious, but she’s making it clear that she’s going to share her story when she feels ready — and not a moment sooner.
Over the weekend, the Olympic gymnastics icon found herself fielding questions from followers once again about the frightening health scare she revealed earlier this month. While fans have understandably been worried ever since she first hinted at a terrifying ordeal, it looks like they’ll have to keep waiting for answers.

On Sunday, a follower jumped into the comments section of one of Simone’s Instagram posts and pointed out what many people have been thinking:
“We never got the update on your near death experience.”
It was a direct question, and honestly, one plenty of fans have been asking since the decorated athlete first revealed she had gone through something incredibly serious. But Simone wasn’t ready to open up just yet.
She has since responded:
“Not ready to talk about it just yet.”
And really, who can blame her?
Like we’ve been reporting, the gymnastics superstar first shocked followers earlier this month when she revealed she’d recently experienced what she described as a near-death situation. At the time, she posted a photo showing what appeared to be multiple hospital wristbands on her arm and admitted the experience left her deeply shaken.
Since then, details have remained scarce. Simone later posted photos showing get-well gifts and images from her hospital stay, but she has continued to keep the specifics of the medical emergency under wraps.

More recently, she revealed that she and her hubby, Indianapolis Colts player Jonathan Owens, were enjoying a much-needed getaway together, sharing social media snaps from what appeared to be a relaxing oceanside vacation. The timing certainly suggests the couple is prioritizing rest and quality time after an incredibly stressful stretch.
As for what happened, well, that mystery still remains unsolved. But!!!! Simone has earned the right to tell her story on her own terms. Whatever she experienced clearly had a major impact on her, and if she’s not ready to relive it publicly, fans will simply have to respect that boundary.
