The West End adaptation of Priscilla Queen of the Desert is set to soon debut on Broadway. However, the musical’s bosses are apparently concerned that the show’s various Kylie Minogue references won’t translate to American audiences, and now will be replaced with Madonna!
A source explains:
‘Kylie├óΓé¼Γäós not a household name in the States so they needed an equally fabulous gay icon for the show. Madonna was the obvious choice.’
Yes, but we LOVE Kylie in the States, too!
It works either way, but a bit of an unnecessary change, no?!
